Great top ten. Especially number one with the issues about the AI giving you little passing options and not exploiting space for easier passes.

I didn't bring that up, I can't say I've had a problem with that so far - I've had a few sent off for tackling me from behind. :)

i find it really bias, especially on world-class. They make these rubbish tackles, normally standing ones and nothing!

Chris, excellent podcast again, always enjoy hearing your thoughts on the game. i agree with all the points you mentioned but 2 in particular. 1. how the AI presses too much. i'm not great at FIFA but, i'm decent and i'm annoyed that i can't really enjoy the great new shooting & 360 dribbling because the AI is all over me.
and secondly when you mentioned how your attackers stay close to the defenders & hold their hands when they should be running into space. right on the money there. these 2 things are preventing me from enjoying the demo.
playing FIFA 10 frustrates me so far. If we had just got FIFA 09 with better shooting (hard low shots instead of the beach ball effect) I would have been happy with that.
Of course i'll be buying the game and i'll get better at it and maybe there will be some tweaks by then and hopefully it will be fun to play, right now its more frustration then fun.
I'll probably buy PES this year too so I'll have a change of style if i need it.
played the demo - with all its faults, i did enjoy it.
thanks again, looking forward to the next podcast.

Great Podcast Chris, agree with the top 10 issues, high defensive lines and attacking ai are the main ones for me. Most goals seem to be counter attacks which is just like 09, another thing, if I play with Barca, I expect to see Dani Alves bombing down the right wing whenever i'm in position. It's crazy the amount of time he overlaps Messi in real life. Yet if I have the ball with Messi and I look for Alves he is nowhere to be seen.

Also look at the system Chelsea play, Bosingwa and A Cole are very attacking, as my team Spurs found out on Sunday :( My point is you should be able to make your full-backs, or midfielders more attacking/defensive. Or they should just play like this normally like their real-life counterparts. It can be done as PES was doing it for years on PS2.

I would have thought the overlapping of defenders as mentioned above will not be an issue in the final game. We should still have the ability to change the 'Attack' arrows of the players in the Formation menu, yet needless to say, we shouldnt need to tell players like Dani when to attack to be fair.

Wow that was a long podcast.

I agree with all the points. My main problem with the game as of now, is that the keepers are getting chipped too much. 80% of the goals I'm conceding are from chips.

The keepers go out too far without pressing anything. They make it too easy to get chipped, even when double tapping Y (Xbox). I liked it better in 09 when they would just stay on the line unless I pressed Y.

Seriously 80%!!

Another one I think the podcast mentioned it, is are the early crosses the computer makes. They seem to need less space than me when making the cross. And on the World Class difficulty the computer makes very very accurate crosses. And it's too hard to defend because the defenders seem to sleep or I can't select the right player when the cross is mid air.

Even when the attackers standing real close to the keeper, they win. From the replay I can see my keeper should have caught it or at least punch it away.

Another complaint is that it's too hard to keep possession. The opponent is pressing too much while my team mates don't make theirselfs available. When I finally find a free player, it's like half of the time he's expecting a deep ball and the ball ends up with the wrong player.

I'm not Asian, whatsoever. But, you should've gone easy on the "Asian eyes". I was a little put off by that; and I can only imagine how an Asian felt.

Woah hold on a second, the way I said it was not offensive whatsoever. That's like being offended if I said Game Face made me black.

When inputting my Game Face it seems to give my eyes an Asian template. Surely there's nothing wrong in saying that? If anyone is offended then I apologise but I don't think I've said anything remotely offensive!

This is what I'm talking about (screenshot courtesy of a friend):

(On the PC the eyes are totally different to the way that they appear in the game.)

Oh no, no. I didn't accuse you of anything, man. Just made sure. Small matter, really.
Moving on, I absolutely love your review and I'm as, if not more, mad with EA with the game. If they've got licenses and not using it fully, it's just pure stupidity. Again, like you, I've been looking forward to Manager Mode for months now, thinking it was finally fixed. But, it's a sham. It really is. All my assists went to my keeper, Almunia, United are 18th after 10 games, Torres was transfer listed for 30 million pounds, the assistant manager's on crack and etc etc. If anyone does, you've got the power to contact EA and let them know about this. I'm not touching Manager Mode till they get a patch out and fix it. I'm absolutely devastated. I even made a list of players I would buy once I got the game. Jack Rodwell, Hatem Ben Arfa etc etc were all in there. Now, I can't even keep my own damn players at the end of their contracts, never mind buying new players!

EDIT:

I'm terribly sorry for my tone earlier, to everyone, not just Chris.

I forgot to mention that one, damn it...

I forgot to go into detail about the things I love about the game as well, the 360° dribbling and the skilled dribbling as well as a few other things. It's a really good game and I'll play it to death I'm sure, I'm just bitterly disappointed with all of the issues, and I hope there's a series of patches along soon.

Great review, really enjoyed it. Though I must say, the time spent on the kits was really wasted on me. Propably because I don't support a club, I just enjoy the game, all teams could have black and white kits and I'd be perfectly happy. Just started a manager mode with bolton, and haven't noticed the weather yet in my first 2 friendlies. Not rain though. Again the transfers problem is not really bothering me, I rarely buy new players anyway. I mostly enjoy playing the game with a friend, and Fifa 09 lasted up and beyond the Fifa 10 demo, so I would expect Fifa 10 will too.

Great review Chris i think maybe though you should have mentioned more about the lack of shooting both close and from distance from the a.i.

Ive had to do a lot of custom editing to get this to work which is frankly ridiculous. :)
