True. I think PES 2010 will be magnificent especially when you consider it's probably been under construction with a dedicated team for quite some time now.

And don't forget that in all honesty it needs to be spot on this year. Konami know this and are aware they have to deliver.

I agree that they do have the technically better game and i think most people will agree with that but most of the skeptics are people that used to follow PES like a religion and all of a sudden they now follow Fifa, love everything about it and slag off PES to the max. Aka fanboys. If the tables were turned and Konami got back on track with PES 2010, all of a sudden those skeptics would start loving everything about PES again.

I understand that people want the best from a game and PES has not been great for its first outings on the next-gen consoles but people seem to forget that PES is the series that has giving people so much joy over the years and these people more than likely used to slag off Fifa year after year after year. I have confidence that PES will get back to its best.

Its fair enough loving Fifa and ive not got a problem with people being like that towards the game but to slag off PES like it never was a great game and them to make out they have always loved Fifa and nothing else, really gets my back up.

What im saying is, that there are people out there that used to love PES with a passion and as soon as it has a tough time on the next gen consoles and the series wasnt moving in the right direction like it was on the PS2 for example, then these sort of fans all of a sudden jump ship to Fifa and start shouting off that Fifa is the best thing since sliced bread and the PES series has never been great. Believe me, ive seen plenty of people do this so far.

Then say if this happened, PES 2010 was a masterpiece and Fifa 10 was disappointing all of a sudden, they make out like they have never said a bad word against Konami or the PES series and then all start jumping ship back to PES saying EA and Fifa has never been good. Basically something like this - 'omgz! PES iz sikk yeh! Fifa sux and alwys haz!'

I've got to say, I'm not totally convinced that it is in-game, but maybe that's just me trying to keep my hopes down... I dunno, let's see

Regarding the animations... The image of Seabass hiring the 200 programmers and mo-capping THEM to add a variety of animations to the game crossed my mind Let's just hope it was a bad dream.

I'll keep following this thread, though. Gotta build up some hype

If this is a PS3 FIFA09 screenshot, then I can honestly say that this year PES2010 looks better than FIFA09... it's a lot more detailed... (who would have known the day would come)

But, this is the close-up view. It's still, all about the wide cam view. It's that one screenshot that will determine my verdict on PES2010's visuals... (not talking about the game in motion here i.e. animations)

Oh mate you are spot on. I'm the same. Remember the first video for PES 2009? The rigid animation was there for all to see, and disappointment started to set in. The first video is SO key this year. If that Messi pic has the all the animations promised, we're in for a treat.

Adam actually said early in this thread that his sources say its representative of ingame, but he won't announce it till this is more concrete/official...:

The next PSM3 mag hits May 7th, but we'll definitely know well before then what the content will be. I'll most likely find out which magazine gets to exclusively reveal the next batch of info sometime next week.

Well maybe I had my expectations a bit lower than you Adam, but this image really exceeded my highest expectations. I mean I just hoped it would be "comparable" to FIFA09... but this is significantly better...

I totally agree with you. Yesterday almost all night i watching videos of FIFA 09 ... the game seems perfectly in graphic terms if you turn off the terrible faces . Apparently EA are much ahead in this regard or simply konami did not show as what they can complied with the PC version. Nothing but wait. If need , i will give crazy money for update my PC but if they cant do graphics better than FIFA at least do look like FIFA ( Only graphic terms )
