Thanks Tom, that's a very good news for manual players :D What about the player selections ? Is is still as erratic as it was in the previous FIFA ?

Some questions to David or Tom:

Goalkeepers are stiil overpowered? One on one you still have to take a finesse shot to score?

Any variation on goal scoring? Or it´s still just the same?

Thanks!

Finesse just makes the finishing easier in one on one situations, Imo it's still too easy to score even without using the finesse button (i have never and never will use the finesse button while playing fifa and never had a problem in these situations). It needs to be harder imo :/

Tom/Dave

I call this the exploitable goal in 2012 (some may agree/disagree) but is that easy goal still doable where if your running level with the post you can pass it across the net as the goalkeeper is incoming and the player is always running parrallel to him for an easy tap in? It's the main thing that gets me frustrated online when you get player after player going for the same goal or using it just to get a win (Hate players who always loko for the easy exploitable goals in all games). I understand some goals can be made like this but imo ones that can be pretty much be repeated at will destroy the feeling of the game (i always thank fellow players who actually play the game like its a real match).

Hey, I'm new to this forum.
I have a question when is this "major announcement" going to happen, will it be later this week or will we have to wait until Gamescon or slightly earlier?

Question: FIFA13 is set to release on 25th september in the US and 28th of september in Europe.
That would mean Season Ticket holders in the US will have access on the 22nd.

With FIFA12 European Season Ticket holders got to play the game at the same date as US players. Will European Season Ticket Holders get to play the game on the 22nd or the 25th?

you can see the cameraman Dave and Tom were talking about at 0:15, filming the players lined up

Also it randomly goes to a shot of the sun at 0:17- really hope the speculation about dynamic weather is true, I think it'd actually add quite a lot even though it's completely aesthetic

The dynamic weather rumour is true. People were talking to people on Twitter. And they said it was in but not in all stadiums :(

Any news on new international teams that will be added? You would think EA would add many more because of the new international mode on career mode. Fifa 12 had 6 south American teams so its hard to imagine a South American cup with only 6 teams :P

EA don't usually publish one, but we'll do one as soon as we have code. Dave has the debug now so he has to do all that work this year, did my stint last year, glad to be relieved of those duties

It's usually only one or two though.

Teams will be an interesting one, imagine there will be a fair few internationals added given that it's been added to CM. Not sure whether they'll all be fully licensed though.

Is there any news on new leagues or licences?

Id like to Argentine league, and id like licenced Italian Serie A and B...

Serie B had all licenced teams in 2010, then in 2011, and 12 only 1 or 2 licenced teams, for some reason...

No it hasnt, it has the teams licenced individually, not the league, and no Serie B teams at all.

New to forum so hello :)

I just wanted to post my thoughts about the removal of Manager / Player mode as I feel EA have actually missed a trick on what they thought in regards to tech issues to scrap it and what we might have wanted ... so here goes.

When you play manager mode and then go to play a game I would have setup 3 options:

1. Play all
2. Be a Pro
3. AI

1 = Same as it is always and same as it will be for Fifa13.

2 Be A Pro - (this is my main point)

You get this option which in effect is just the same as you get under "kick off - be a pro player". So I can still play a game under manager mode as a single player I select on the field and play as one player of the team only. EA seem to have thought that this HAS to be your VP (which then would include all the hassle of stories and issues along side manager that were the reasons for not having it) but I feel it doesn't which solves that, but players/users do like to play as a single player in a team in this mode than play all if they aren't too great.

The other reason for this is that I have never understood spending all your time as a manager buying new players (and in FIFA13 that looks like a great and realistic challenge) ... only for them to be as good as YOU play them with your 360 pad. I have paid for top strikers, yet me as the player/user have to play them and im not good as a striker .. then how am I seeing its benefit? You pay for a top striker, that in the end is only as good as you making them play with your skill. My point is, I like to role play, so to be a manager, then play as one player I can test a player I just bought, or be a defender and watch how my team now work with "me" playing a position that I am good at (as a VP) and enjoying seeing the new AI (fifa 13's new AI) and new players I bought work together to see how as a manager I would then tweak them ... which leads onto ...

3 AI

This would be the option not to "sim" but to watch a full match AI vs AI (just as you can do with kick off my selecting no player slot before beginning a match). Then as a manager I can over watch the entire thing play out, make subs, use D-pad to control them when needed plus enjoy my new purchases & how they and then making adjustments.

I for one liked player/manager becuase some of us out there dont like or not great at playing an entire team when it comes to playing the matches. So for me I only ever played player/manager because I wanted the manager aspect but didn't want to control the entire team.

My final point is ... have I missed somthing and am I wrong and what I type is actually in manager mode? Again I stress Im not talking about VP pro but just controlling a selected player on the 11 in manager mode.

On one more note for the guys that visited EA ... VP / Be A Pro .... has "Tournament" mode that is for playing all players ... been moved into VP menu? IE: I set up my own tournament and then play it with my team and my VP?

I'd be glad to have the communication between club mates to be eased as well as hiring new members.

Some kind of a transfer market for Virtual Pros would be nice. And sort of an "arsenal" where you can watch all the Virtual Pros. This could be done via the homepage.

For instance there could be a subpage of a player's profile page, where you have all data and information about the Virtual Pro of that player.

Furthermore it would be ace to (just like the player search for transfers in the carreer mode) be able to search for Virtual Pros considering caertain criteria. The criteria could be chosen then.

This would make a lot of things much easier and more more transparent.

EA and Konami should make a screensaver from this goal for themselves as a goal to a achieve for next versions of Fifa and Pes.

And I mean the dribbling part. Atm it's not possible to do those subtle and precise moves that give you that little space to score goals like these. How can you add this kind of precision in dribbling, without breaking the balance between attacking and defending, I just don't know, but they should try.
