I hope Rutter isn't talking about more scripting in the game at the end of that video there. Sounds like he is, but in different words. How can you introduce randomness of football and yet still have it all happen predictably? Hmm, sort of a paradox you've landed yourself in there, Mr Rutter.

Another thing that pisses me off is still all the talk of attacking. Attacking this, attacking that. Look at the first little clip of what I assume is Fifa 13 playing early in that video. Now, can anyone seriously tell me that a Barca back line of Puyol and Pique would afford a striker that much fucking space in behind them, unmarked in yards of space for a lofted ball to be just dinked over into a 1v1 with the keeper? If that's the kind of shit that will happen in Fifa 13 on a regular basis, then I think I'll give it a miss. It's seriously so frustrating to have a game that has so much going for it, only to be let down by a fundamental flaw that should make any defender at any level of football consider hanging up their boots, because in the real world, that simply does not happen as easily as it does in this game. Fucking sort it, Rutter! You want a football sim, then make defending at least somewhat realistic to what it should be in the real sport.

What he said at the end is a load of crap. Base the game on player stats. No scripting should be in the game.

Also give us the option to change the way our team shape up. The line height slider and line width should be in team management and such be easy to change. What I mean is instead of having ultra defence - ultra offence controlled by the dpad, have 1-10. 1 been deep laying defensive line more compact midfield and no Wing backs going forward. 10 been high line attacking wing backs and attackers never tracking back. The custom tactics is just not effective enough.

Defensive AI tactics are made redundant when the defence can't and rarely functions as a unit in Fifa. You'll get players going forward on their own at times, and at other times, players actually running back and playing an attacker or more onside when they are the last man back. In other words, the defensive AI is somewhat retarded in nature.

I don't think so, unless we have too.

That'll happen on and off up until release.

That preview is pathetic, might as well just come out and show a picture of his pay cheque received from EA headquarters. NO game deserves that much praise, especially not a game that is as flawed as the last version of FIFA.

I don't think you read the title correctly. It's asking the question, a fair one IMO, "IS Fifa 13 the best spots title not yet released?" hinting that it could be something great. It's not stating outright that it is in fact the best.

Reading certain previews, we must always take many things into context. I personally have never heard of them, which in turn makes me take less notice.

It also is widely different to common feedback from first playtest experiences. While everyone has been positive, this preview is filled with little context of it's own, and doesn't combat issues had with the previous version.

While no one should be quick to discount their views, to take anything substantial from them is only a mistake IMO.

That isn't even a preview lol, there is zero information in that article that couldn't have been gleaned from EA's official press release, it's viral marketing plain and simple

Apart from the stadiums, the player information as well as graphics is said to be completed during the coming days.
