So, after all that, it turns out the latest drivers for my graphics card are indeed the problem. I uninstalled 12.4 and reinstalled 12.3 and bingo, everything is fine again

I'll sit out 12.4 and see what happens with the next one

It happened to me Danny ,when I want to change the sound from Headsets to HDMI.I found HDMI not available.

Hopefully they fix it with 12.5. Haven't seen much complaints about it yet though

Yh I haven't seen any compliant about 12.4. I'll go with 12.3 for now.

Edit:Are you using the default settings in Gaming app in Catalyst ?

Yeah, never go near them

But from the description that only fixes artifacting problems that people are having. Does it sort the sound as well?

yea it did fix the sound issue

It's weird that it worked today until a couple of mins ago ,the sound disappeared again
I'll try to keep the 12.4 drivers while install 12.3 audio drivers and will see if it works otherwise it's back to 12.3 again

I want to get this Asus GTX 680 DirectCU II TOP but my case wont fit a card more the 10.7" so im thinking about buying a new case as well not sure because it's a bit investment.

I bought a full tower case thermaltake Chaser MK-1 awhile ago which cost me alot (900 L.E ) but it was a good investment.
