I don't mind you asking at all, good sir :D

Pitchside camera for me. I only play in certain stadia and in daytime setting. Estadio Escorpaiao is my current favourite as there is a nice turf shade and the lighting results in a nice contrast making it all the more cleaner looking.

To me pitchside camera looks far better than it plays.

I was just thinking of it, we've touched on it in the past and i'd quite like to discuss it further when i'm a little less tired - but i'll throw it out there.
RE: Camera views - what do you think needs to change with them, it.

I for one would love fully customisation - height, angle, how zoomed etc

Okay thanks. That's what I've been mostly using this year. I tend to stick with the cleaner looking daytime setting too.

I'm all for that too. At the very least I'd like Konami to bring back the 1 through 9 panning angles.

Like Bravez, I dream of scoring Ashely Young type curlers in PES

A lot of people say that but personally I didn't know R2 shooting even existed in PES until 2011 :?

Or R2 dribbling, still not sure what that even did..

Ah man, that's poor :o So you played PES 5/6 and never used R2 shooting? And you don't notice any differences with R2 dribbling?

 !!!

The secret to be the best player of WE/PES PS2 series: to master R2 dribbling.. and R2 shooting too.

Oh man, R2 dribbling was so necesary, intuitive and elegant.

amm...could anybody put a video showing R2 dribbling?? (to all directions not just "L" form) please!

If we talk about R2 dribbling, first touch, etc. for me PES 6 is the benchmark for this.
I hate how in PES 5 is maded it , in most cases it is irrelevant whether or not using R2. Players are making almost the same movement and close dribbling. There are only relevant if you decide to use backdrag or fines shot , but in PES 6 is perfect , a huge difference . If big fan of backdrag , R2 close control .first touch and super cancels tricks . PLS Konami bring back shot cancel, and supercancel like it was in old games :(

Well now i'm on PC i thought camera customization would be one of the best things about patching the game. However, it turns out that pitch side cam is my go to, and no matter how much i can customize the cam, i still enjoy pitch side the most.

@MichaelBroadhead_ :o Cannot believe you didn't know about the wonders of R2!!!? How did you eve win a game

Alan wrote:I have been enjoying my plays of PES2012 of late. My persistence after hitting a brick wall with the game around Dec/Jan appears to be paying off. Had some fantastic encounters against Top Player AI and have rarely - if ever - felt cheated. A mixture of dedicated off ball defence, further improvement in my passing and dribbling play which I thought had peaked and controller re-map making the game great fun to play.

The best sessions I have had on PES 2012 and last year's is through the Copa Libertadores. Maybe it is because the teams are more 'average' and level in general ability with a couple of world class outstanding players scattered amongst them. This, in turn, brings out the individuality within each team as you can see and feel the differences between your squad players and your star striker/midfielder. Injuries have real consequence when you have no like for like replacement to score all the goals or control the midfield and this forces a change of approach.

AI cheating/scripting is still prevalent, so much to the point where I know the opposition are about to score it is that telegraphed. Tackling thin air/ghost bodies and the opposition moving like someone pressed fast forward on a DVD while all performing first time passes like Xavi.

The defensive system I feel is flawed and indistinct. The thin line between executing a great tackle and barging/tripping the player is vague and often out of your control. PES 2011 felt more rigid, locked in and mechanical but I always 'got' the timing of a tackle and could see when I messed it up. Tackling this year seems based more on luck than skill.

It was good. I wouldn't mind a return of that in PES13.

Just give us the same camera options as in pes 6. It. Can't. Be. Hard.

Or, just leave the pes 2012 camera, then just put in the pes 2010 camera into the game. I can't understand why not? It's a mystery....

Not just to bash it. Blind love or faith for the game will not bring it back to its old glory. Positive critics and suggestions, as much as we can, is what can help Konami and the series right now.

Hmm well from what Adam has mentioned in the past, it seems that there is a lot of work to do to make the game look right in terms of LOD in each camera. Unfortunately i have no idea of game programming etc so have no idea what that might be, limitations of hardware or engine etc but i assume that still stands. I would expect too much for customizable cameras.
