but pes 2011 for me did a good job in reproducing passing, balanced gameplay (except catch up bug) and considered pace. Those are three key factors when judging a football game, and pes 2012 failed in all of them, that's why i think it's generally better than 2012

Yeah I remember pre-PES2012 thinking something like "all they need to fix for 2012 is the catch-up bug". Konami should have followed the KISS principle, they ended up screwing up a lot of the good they did with PES 2011.

well, that's exactly what i expected too from pes 2012, instead like you said they touched things that didn't need to be touched. I have the worrying feeling that trying to fix pes 2011 clumsiness they destroyed the pace of the game making it too quick in pes 2012. The same thing happened with shooting and goalkeepers: they scripted the shots to improve goalkeepers. Imo there is clearly something wrong with Konami development in next gen, it's not just a bad engine, it's also complete lack of gameplay balance and betatesting.

totally agree with bigol and anderson
for me the most important questions are " What happened from PES2011 demo till PES 2012 retail version ?What happened to the freedom that was there in PES2011? Why every single version that followed PES2011 gone from bad to worse ? Is it because of listening to wrong people(another community ) ? OR just different people work on it from the demo to final release ? "

those are the questions that I need to know because there's something wrong with PES ;)

Its konami type of things to change codes not the guys you mean ;) .They told us what they saw in the preview code and konami always miss with their game after that.

and you made me LMAO when you said that PES2010 was responsive   very funny

I mentioned this a few pages back, and I'll say it again. I guess that the license Konami has acquired for the Copa Libertadores allows them to use the teams of the last season for the game but not update the squads.
Jon mentioned this in an interview if I remember correctly. If anyone know better, please correct me.

Oh, and something else, elchino: You achieve much more with a modest language and a calm tone than simply exploding and showing immatureness. This is something many PESians still have to learn...

pes 2011 feb/march dlc updated the copa lib teams. u would have been aware of that, unless of course you dont touch that mode. so why has the 'license' since then been limited? makes no sense whatsoever. if no update was to be applied to copa lib teams, why wasnt it mentioned in the press release? two words, laziness, neglect

i try to be calm man. but when konami drops the balls time and time again due to bizarre decision making and what not, it is frustrating. im just passionate about pes thats all

I'm dreading the post-PES13 demo release phase - the dreaded 'Feedback' window. I feel sick thinking about it even though its months away. Hopefully Konami don't go for the demo hat-trick and then begin to place all their eggs in PES14's basket.

I would like it if we dont get any demo at all. They should showcase the game for Adam and his guys. And then with a good conversation over the last time of development they will create the game together.

excuse my english as always.

Feeling of individuality vs com Assistance

The clearest "controllable" difference in attributes of players in pes 2012 seem to be speed, dribbling skills and player balance. This differences are the clearest ones visually and gameplay wise imo. Of course all attributes are important and still make difference but are less recognizable in comparison to pes 5-6. I don't want to argue about which attributes are most important, i want to make clear that the control of player individuality got less in general.
-
The com assistance in shooting, the central shooting, and light shooting from outside of the box have removed your control of the player skill, while you could feel the difference of Gerrard, Sukur, Ronaldo, Huylens in Pes 6. Of course there is still individuality and difference of players! The knowledge of player footing, stand, attributes, player individuality, football and pes knowledge still makes a difference, but what does it feel like to shoot in the right if you have aimed left? This might be a good shoot execution depending on attributes(!), but gives you less control. Not able to shoot hard with a 80+ shooting stats player free from 20m, is poor - and is a execution not depending on attributes. So - The attributes are still there, but this is a big inconsistence in the game.
So the shooting individuality might be in the game, but does not depend on your execution as much as in older pes and/(or either) is scripted.

Even considering less passing bars, passing is heavily scripted, but that’s not the point! It's much freer than in Pes 6. But that might be the problem in the case of player individuality.
While you couldn't pass everywhere in pes 6, the player stats for player control (in this case receiving a pass) and passing stats were fundamental. With a ML default player you couldn’t receive the pass as good as with a star player and could not execute a hard pass depending on skills. Seems same in pes 2012 - but main difference In pes 2012 is that the direction of the pass is a key point depending on the passing stats. Which is good - but the execution of the stats is not that well. Let me try to explain:

Now in Pes 2012 I have the feeling that the stats of control seem less important for receiving a pass, and that is a opinion of course. And the inconsistence of shooting direction remains in passing direction as well. The direction of the pass in pes 5 seemed always right (opinion) because of limited rails and you had the main difference only in passing speed and hardness, which made a huge difference in player individuality on its own. Now, since you push left for the pass and the pass goes a bit the wrong on less passing assistance bars you don't feel in control of the pass you wanted to execute, while on higher passing assistance the direction is not right either since the passing assistance locks the target player and the passing speed you determined (right or wrong) is not included in the execution of the pass.
You seem not in control on lesser passing bars even with the ai because of direction (which some people might like) and on full bars either way. I think the main problem of passing is that more freedom in passing 2012 goes hand in hand with poor execution and control of player stats – therefore loss of individuality.
The com ai in defence adds another criticical element to the problem of passing, since it seems that they tuned down the effect of lofted through balls as they tuned down the shooting.

And the removal of the acceleration stat is weird.

Active ai and to send players with r3 are great additions by the way. The change of shooting and passing were not needed. If they had only put out the catch up bug and added new animations it would have been enough. Somehow the pace of the game got worser as well unfortunatly.

And one ML point: The scout system of last year was great. They seem to changed it because people couldn’t check it and got frustrated. But it was a wonderful implementation. Training is not good this year, but many people have mooned enough about that already. Feel sad tht they changed the scouting system.

Considering Konami have absolutely no obligation to provide updated squads and downloadable content after the game is released, they've already gone way above and beyond the call of duty with all the free updates and content they've provided so far. Go in and make the changes yourself.
