Why cant ea just make a great superb footy game ? It aint hard at all when you got what they have, money tech and wiz. But they waste it with flash and unreal systems.

Alot of fifa is just based on scripting and that ridiculous assist system, develop semi for everything and let it be the standard with no other options, im getting so pissed with all the assist childs who abuse it like hell. Playing a semi match against another guy with controls on semi really makes the game 10 percent better, that compared with reworked physics would kill all competition.

A big problem is ball control, the ball is GLUED to everything, running high speed and just stopping on a nickle, 180 turn and boom you score, its lame and cant be done in real life, only by luck compared with talent. in fifa its just the norm.

Plus ai is so far behind that its sickening. If pes had made a superb game i wouldnt bother but that game is even more frustrating. Really sad to be footy fan when it comes to games.

kasper, I agree. But havent we talked about the exact same problems for half a year now? Haha... But ye, I feel the same. I feel that I want to write about the problems after every game I've played. The default settings for everyone must be for the hardcore players, while offline, you can choose to play on amateur, with super assisted controls, etc. I mean, you must work your way up to be better. They think themself that their game is "hardcore" online etc, but it aint... They're compromising too much with the "casuals". And I also feel that some of it doesnt have with "hardcore" or "casual" to do, just the lack of feeling. Play fifa before you play pes, or vice versa. And you can feel, directly, that fifa feels like a mobile phone game. In the end, I don't think EA will go "hardcore" when everything is about the money. No way. Well, we can hope.. But if we want to get close to real football, we can just play pes. When a pes player feels something, or gets happy when they score a goal in fifa, then you know that EA have "done it"...

The impact engine really is awful. It's not just those big awkward moments, it's also those small subtle awkward moments. Played a couple of matches in fifa 09, and it feels and looks much better. No way that they've worked on the impact engine for 2 years. Correct me if I'm wrong. Start to finish the games. Or at least fix with patches. Or sell the game for half the price in the future.

We don't know what modes will be in the demo yet, but i was speaking to one of the EA guys at Guildford on friday and they're aware that they need to show a bit of everything so i think it's safe to say you will get a taste of that part of the game, i could be wrong though.

The futsal/5-6 a side matches are really fun, i think they'll be what people expect anyway. If the tricks side of things (which by the way is not as big a part of the game as you'd think, certainly in futsal/5-6 a side) isn't your bag, then world tour could be less fun, as you do get pushed through all of the match types.

It's the street dribbling system that makes certain animations look and feel sticky, when you pull LT, the LS swaps from moving your player to just moving the ball around. It's not something you'll use very often outside of the trick focussed modes.

Alright now. Penalties need to be improved. No matter if you're powering up the shot, and hits the green spot perfectly, the keeper is gonna save it, if he goes the right way. It's all about to flick the right stick to the left or the right, no matter how good your penalty are. At least, that's how it feels. What's the point in being good at penaltys when you can't be rewarded with it?

Thanks. Lots of good info there. Looking forward to playing this.

Taken from the EA forums.

"last paragraph

Overall, fans can expect about 3,000 different EURO-branded products, supplied by approximately 40 licensees across more than 100,000 retail outlets around the world. From the official match ball, official video game and official sticker album to the vast range of gifts on offer, there should be something to appeal to every supporter.

http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuro/abouteuro/ ... index.html

so looks like game release was never in doubt if UEFA says about it openly

EA is just focused on promoting FIFA Street atm, I guess announcement will happen after Street's retail launch"

We all knew it. But it's always great when it's confirmed.

It says fifa 12 and not 13, so I guess you're right! I just hope they did the same with the other "face licensed" teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, Milan, etc!

It feels like EA wants to make the defensive AI stupid so it's more possible to score goals. Score goals = casual gamers/kids happy. The game is too easy. I think fifa is a good game, I've played around 50 matches this week and I can't blame EA for not having this "feeling" when scoring goals, like pes. I can't and I shouldnt blame them for that. But it feels, like I said, that ea want high scorelines and end to end matches all the time. It's so damn obvious now after I've been hammering the game. There's no way that we can't talk about this über ball control and super accurate lobbed trough balls in 180 degrees. It's a huuuge problem. It isnt realistic at all. No depth. Playing real football isnt rewarding at all. All you need is fast and strong players, and make those crazy 180 degree passes between the dumb AI all the time. I'm angry cause there is so much good in this game. These problems shouldnt exist in 2012. No way. I hope that the euro game is much improved in these areas. And make the defensive system much tighter. It's much easier to defend than attack in real life. And in fifa it's easier to attack than defend.

Me and MGMT should be the ones in charge of what ea do with fifa. Nothing technical, just how they should do :D

Im getting so tired year after year where no developer can capture the true spirit of football.

A minor thing is the new H2H seasons. Its cool and all, but i would like a option where the individual player can choose if he wants to meet equal teams and better teams. I would love the champions league match ups, like basel vs bayern or basel vs united.

Haha, lol. I think those match ups would exist in live season if EA had the CL licenses.

I'm not excited at all now. The new fifa street game looks super arcady. Just look at all the stylish rainbow flicks and stuff. I'm dissappointed. What's the point with goal montages when the game seems to be that easy?

Agree, I suppose they'll want to give it a little arcade touch to get away from the normal Fifa series and to don´t break the previous Fifa tradition, I guess :? looks like a good game, I been waiting for a street football game where I can do fantasy tricks and all that stuff but I think they exaggerated a little bit, I been expected a more simulation game too. Now, with this Fifa Street with his dribling acade style, I'm hoping for Fifa 13 they get away for this fancy things (and stop adding fancy features xD) and concentrate purely in a solid simulation gameplay.
Sorry my english isn´t good :(

Nah. EA kind of co-operates with the "skillers" on youtube. I mean, they even invited them to play the street game. They know that A LOT of, I suppose, kids, are watching and loving all the tricks and stuff and having no idea what football is. Advantage for EA ofc, so obvious. It's kind of sad that they're seeing them as the "real" fans. While we "need" EA to fix the AI, the balance, the magnetic field, the extreme accuracy in passing and shooting, the weight in the game, they're kind of focusing on the flair stuff like stylish passing and the tricks. Even if they released a street game, I just can't see that they'll let go off the flair stuff in fifa 13. It feels like it's kind of over now for us who wants a balanced and realistic game. It feels like konami are our only hope if we want that kind of a game.

Played a fair amount of FIFA12 over the weekend and...

I'm not feeling it at all. I have a slider set I will post up which is an attempt to ser the game up as best possible but there is only so much sliders can do, especially the bare amount of sliders on offer - this game has about 1/10th(it is probably nearer a 1/20th) of the sliders available in NBA2K12 and I do think there is scope for a footy game to rammed full of sliders.

Man, even a great deal of the animations are annoying me. They might very well be technically well crafted and complex but some just look odd, while others such as turning etc. lack any real variety going from player to player. I can enjoy it in little bursts but I am also finding the game isn't that demanding nor does it organically encourage/demand creativity to your play. You can be creative but the challenge doesn't demand it in my opinion.

But what about people who dont want to sit there and change loads of Sliders? People who just want to boot up the game and play it?

Im a casual gamer myself and I havent got time to sit there tweaking the game like that plus it would feel like im cheating in some way and making the game come to me rather than me developing my playing style towards the game.
