I'd prefer that. At least he looks like Max Payne, unlike John Mclane there

The only thing that tells me its a Max Payne game is the music in the background.
Maybe we're getting too old for this s**t?

Exactly the same on the music thing. That's the only thing that felt familiar (and the bullet time which has now been done to death)

Re: Max Payne 3
Hahaha i used to always laugh at hes faces! And the music does remind me so much of the old max paynes, i used to love them, the first one think i completed it 5 times over, im going to have to buy this.
But yeah i miss the old max payne, would even be happy with a HD remake of the old ones, or something along them lines, it will probably be good (the new one) but as youve said it doesnt look like max payne!

Re: Max Payne 3
I'm trying so hard not to be cynical about this, but very disappointed to see they have moved away from the film noir inspired themes of the first two.
It could actually end up being really good (Rockstar are known for their quality after all), but the trailer suggests this really isn't a Max Payne. It could've been called "Bald Man Does Rio" (lol) or something entirely different, just wish they would've stayed true to the Max Payne roots.

Re: Max Payne 3
The plot and setting is such a rip of "Man on Fire" its not even funny.

Just watched the trailor and I think it looks great. Unoriginal story, but a story I like nontheless, will probably buy it

Re: Max Payne 3
I'm just hoping that you play most of the game in 'Max Payne' style - you know leather coat, full head of hair, rainy environments......I really hope they at least have the intro or something in storybook form like they used to. I'm also hoping that the bald beard in sunny Rio is just a small section of the game.....or even a prelude to the main game, but I doubt it.
Just doesn't feel right having MP character and setting look the total opposite of the previous 2 games, there's a reason why they both worked....R* must know this, I just hope they're taking a creative liberty on a short section of game rather than ripping the spine out of the franchise.

This has put a lot of fears to rest. Sounds amazing.

Re: Max Payne 3
It sure does sound amazing. I read another article with one of the developers who basically stated that this is a MP game through and through from the noire element to the storyboarding to the night time grim settings (Sau Paulo at night could be more gritty and grimy than NYC) also that the section of game in daytime setting where Max is bald seems to be a smaller section of game.....basically it seems without putting too fine a point on it that you won't be playing most of the game as we've seen in the promo materials so far....I pray this holds true. Looks like it is.

Are they planning to re-release part 1 and 2 with the graphics and engine of the 3rd one? Or will they at least give them an HD upgrade? That would be SOOOOO amazing to have those games playable on the PS3!

That's what I love about the HD Remakes, all the best previous gen games get them! Some are better done than others but it gives these games a new lease of life, acts as a promo of sorts to go alongside the next major installment if there is one...we get improved framerates, graphics and trophies - and they get money for old rope...it's a win/win situation!
I'm hoping SSX gets the HD treatment, Tricky would be amazing in HD!

You guys are tempting me to dig out my XBOX version of Max Payne 2 and play it on the 360.

Re: Max Payne 3
That looks, AMAZING!
Not just the aiming and shooting but the motion of the characters, the graphics, the way they move, etc.
The way the players take cover looks so real, the reaction to the environment and bullet hits. The guy that Max shoots at around 2:50 just looks so real, the way his hand instinctivly goes toward where hes been hit, but then the 2nd bullet to his chest knocks him back.
Ive never been a huge fan of bullet time, even in Max Payne, but I guess its up to the game how much you use it. But it does look good.
Definite purchase for me.
