I need to get a wheel. I'm finding it impossible to stay on the track with traction control off.

I'm finding it easier than last year which is good

I'm starting to get peeved with the game...
I'm doing Malaysia again after my profile got corrupted, so I did Australia and finished 15th (safety car disappears etc).

Now I'm doing Malaysia:
Practice - 3.5 seconds ahead of 2nd
Qualifying - Pole Position by 1.2 seconds
Race - I literally cannot get away from the AI.

It's not unreasonable for me to think i should be pulling away slightly from the AI each lap. Instead I find myself defending for nearly 90% of my lap. Turns 5&6 are of particular concern. I'm taking that corner on the edge of what the game will allow me and yet the AI is catching up massively, I'm talking a 1 second gap being obliterated in 2 corners. It's madness

I also got a penalty against me seemingly for being unfortunate enough to spin in front of another car. A car that rammed me when I came to a stop, i might add. I tried to correct the slide but it was one of those slides that once it begins there's nothing you can do...

I've turned off the game, i might try and do the race tomorrow. I'll see how i feel...

Just got my first mod for the game. Ultra high setting mod and Ultra High Mod
Ultra high setting mod fixes the LOD, increases shadows and makes the mirrors ultra high too 8-)

Anywho, had a 20% race in China just there. Started 4th in the rain, managed to get into 1st on the first 2 corners and led for the next 9.5 laps. On the second last lap, I made a mistake, allowing Hamilton and Webber past. Tried to hard to get past Webber in the middle sector and missed the apex for a corner, allowing Alonso to get past. In a moment of idiocy, i hit the accelerator too early and spun into the barrier, luckily slowing enough to just tip it. Had to reverse back out and in the end finished 6th. Enjoyable race to say the least.

Rain is quite difficult :D

Back to this after 2 weeks off, playing some other game, and it's good to be back. Love this game even with the little niggles. The game really shines at 100% race distance. Would love an option to save mid grand prix though. Hoping for a patch soon to make the game even better :D

Posted these on PESFan, thought I'd post them in here...

Just done qualifying in Monaco, hate Monaco. I'll go through a seasons worth of front wings in the race but...

Q3:
Poor first and second laps, manage a 1:14.8 in the third to finish above the cut off. Rubens is out, qualifying 18th Image

Q2:
Have a terrible first lap, 1:16.2. On the second lap, I push too hard and smash the barrier, new front wing needed
(yay! Image). Come back out with 3 mins to go, do a low 1:14 and get through in 7th

Q3:
My thinking before this is to do only 2 laps at most, in order to keep my tyres in good condition. Despite me hating this track, because I crash a lot, I manage to put in a pretty much perfect lap (for me) and get a 1:12.9.
I begin another lap but being 0.3 down through the first sector, i give up and return to garage. I get pole by 0.8 seconds

Extremely happy Image
I'll end up smashing it into the barriers in the race though Image

Just did Monaco. Started on Super-Softs with 92% condition, not too shabby :D Managed to keep Vettel behind me during the first 6 laps. However on the 4th (i think), i had a slight collision with a barrier and damaged my front wing. Not a big deal at the time but it will be...

Anywho, make my pit-stop at the end of the 6th lap with Vettel less than a second behind, he follows me in (as do 3rd placed Alonso and 4th placed Button). During my stop and tbh, needlessly, the crew give me a new front wing which delays me. I come back out behind Vettel, Alonso and Button. I dispatch of Button, who is being held up by Alguersuari (who is yet to pit), with a mixture of some late braking, DRS and KERS on the first corner. I get alongside and then slightly ahead Alguersuari through the tunnel but miss the braking point for the chicane, oddly though, no warning :?

Next up is Alonso, who's a good 3 seconds ahead. Everytime I begin to reel him in, i make a slight mistake and my work is undone. Then i get another slice of luck, backmarkers. Alonso is severely held up which allows me to get right onto his tail, I out-brake Alonso through Mirabeau and passed the backmarker on the hairpin.

There's 5 laps to go and Vettel is 5 seconds ahead. I push to try and catch him but a mixture of Tyre wear and wanting to finish the race, make me dial down the fuel and just stroll to the finish. First Podium and probably first one ever on Monaco in a racing game :D

Kind of annoyed that I didn't win, thanks to the wing but I suppose I'd be moaning if they didn't replace it :D

Nice read Danny. Sounds like you're enjoying the game. Do you play with a pad or a wheel?

DS3 too :D although I'm not able to keep the car in a straight line without traction control on :( Thinking about investing in a wheel, again.

I think the safety car is a great addition to the game. It adds to the realism and gives me a breather :D Love the sense of anticipation waiting for the race to go green too.

Haven't played this in ages. Downloaded the patch last week, but one of the PC bugs that hasn't been fixed made me not play it. Corrupt profile saves

Might give it a whirl soon though

Did the British grand prix (50%) yesterday and experienced a strange bug. After my last pit stop, myself and the rest of the field had to do every remaining lap twice. Thought I was going nuts at first and wasn't reading the lap counter correctly. Looking forward to the patch :)

I have been playing F1 2011 on and off for a while now. Mostly playing co-op championship with Aaron Sullivan from NGB.

We are 3 races in using every second of practice time to learn the tracks with all assists off using Logitech G27's. We have experienced a few bugs but luckily nothing game breaking.

Loving the game so far, even using f1.com to learn tracks whilst at work!

Yea, I love the game too.

Patch 2 for the PS3 has released. Improvements I've noticed so far:

- Graphics & framerate are smoother and look slightly better.
- AI car malfunctions happen with more frequency.
- AI seems to pit more now.
- AI seems a bit slower in the rain.
- AI doesn't move around so much when being overtaken during blue flags.
- More race length increments available (40%, 75% etc...) 8-)
