@iamdjpolar we've heard some tweaks to the Impact Engine are being added for launch. Still a few bugs.

Anybody know why of all the City players Adam Johnson seems to be the only one WITHOUT the face tech! He is stuck with the dopey looking one from FIfa11. Anybody know wether he will have it by final build? like (Fiat) Chiqachainto at United? ;)

Loving the demo. Defending is difficult but so it should be for a real 'sim'. Defending is an art form as well as attacking, great to see that you now need to be as good at defending as attacking.

Love the new keeper annimations. Joe Hart is so similar to his real self, Brilliant!

Lots of love for Fifa 12....Bring on 30th!! (hopefully earlier if Shopto send out early)

I really like the fact that even on professional you'll have a challenge, moving onto world class now

I am playing on professional and i've only scored a couple but the AI attack is tearing me apart! enjoying the challenge!....If you were winning every game on the demo then what challenge does the full game pose?

Mastering the art of defence is the thing I am looking forward to most i think.

IMportant question to all.

for some of you competitors.. online.
Do you think its worth having tactical defending , i think its pretty usless..... reason.. you have legendary defending.. which destroys the point in learning tactical defending.

ONLINE why would i use tactical defedning against someone using legendary defending and beating me ??
it really doesant make sense, i mean online modes , i will play whatever suits me the best.. and beats my oppenent the best way.
i seriously cant see why we would use it.

this totally baffles me... i mean i once used manual or semi passing online , against someone who had assisted, and beleive me i got beat , becasue his passing was so accurate. advantage.

i see the same for defending.... i mean would i use the option with the most learning curve in a competitive match ?
its like going to the CL final with your youth team.

You have no choice to switch between Tactical or Legacy Defending! You are forced to play with Tactical Defending online! ;)

I actuall never liked playing on line! Never enjoyed it......but this new tactical defender, precision dribbling etc might make me think again. It is by far more of complete football 'sim' now.

You can imagine the kids hating not been able to go from back to front in 5 seconds ala basketball!! this is much better you have to time runs and move the ball with some intelligence. I love it! Well done EA....now lets hope you got Career Mode right :D

another dave rutter interview... ;)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyZ5epFO ... r_embedded

DLC, FIFA 13 and NHL-war
We have talked to FIFA producer David Rutter

Together with the winter cold and thick sweater, waiting FIFA 12 just around the corner, and on that occasion we were invited to Stockholm to chat with senior producer for FIFA games, David Rutter. Over the short ten minutes we had available, we learned a lot about innovations, future plans and internal rivalries.

FIFA games tend to have three new items to focus on in each new edition, and this time present you something you call "a trinity of innovation" for FIFA 12 What do you mean by this?
- Trinity consists of "Position dribbling", "Tactical Defending" and "Impact Player Engine". The first offers a detailed control of when you have the ball, the other eliminates a number of button presses from the defensive game, and lets you concentrate on thinking tactically, and the third is a physics engine that provides almost infinite variety of collisions between players.

What is EA Football Club?
- It forms the main artery in this year's FIFA, and gives you the opportunity to work out your profile by using the experience points earned through gameplay. You can compare yourself with friends and keep you updated on what they have done in the game. You can also connect you to your favorite club, and help them earn experience points, and play the same games they play in the real world through special challenges.

Lots of new, in other words. Are there any items you would like to have, but that nothing of?
- Most were in fact of this time, thanks to good planning, but there is always something that is not included. But I'm not going to reveal to you, it probably shows up in FIFA 13

So there is no DLC packs or content updates during the FIFA 12-season?
- Maybe in future games, but we do not work actively with any DLC system for the near future. The goal is to deliver a good game so early in the season as possible, something we have done this year. But we have much work in the EA Football Club to ensure that there is much interest in FIFA, even further into the season.

But you are then going with FIFA 13 already?
- Some have already begun to sketch it up, but we do not start working on it full until after Christmas.

It is now possible to choose how strict the judges will be on the cards and free kicks, and the players react with anger to certain decisions. How long until we see judges who do wrong decisions, as in real life?
- We are always divided on this question, but we will NOK not going to make some changes soon. We see already that many players jumping out of online gaming when it goes bad, you can just imagine what it is about the game can make the occasional mistake. Secondly, I think most football supporters would like the sport better if it was possible to avoid judgments wrong.

Previously there have been internal kniving with Madden team in EA Sports in Canada for the best results happen yet? Is it true that you get a bonus for reaching a certain average score on Metacritic?
- That's only NHL team as we have reached over 90 on Metacritic, so it is those we rivals by now. I actually live next door to the NHL manufacturer at the hotel here in Stockholm and we were out for a walk last night and had a good laugh of the internal blade no. When it comes to bonuses, is it one time only, when I and the EA Sports boss Peter Moore signed a bet during the development of FIFA 10 The result was a Metacritic score of 90, and a huge party at the whole team, bought you the boss himself.

What is the next big step for the FIFA series?
- Without revealing much, I can say that there is talk about more focus on game modes, online gaming and social elements.

FIFA 12 is developed by EA Sports and published by Electronic Arts. The game launched 29 September in most available formats.

It does make me laugh at some of the petty kids over at the official fifa forums. First they have been complaining about the tactical defending, saying that they will wait for a few weeks until ea realise that tactical defending is not being played online much and then ea will change their mind lol. Now the new one that they are complaining about is the celebrations. Personally i like the new close up celebrations as they show the players faces, detaiil of the kits and part of the big match atmosphere. They are trying to see if they can get it changed in time for fia 12, i just posted that they got no chance and to accept it like they have the tactical defending lol.

This cracked me up ^^

I honestly don't think it's that big of a deal, yeah it ruins the immersion but no more than the canned animations did imo. I've been playing the demo solid and haven't had one bad impact, infact they've looked very good. So if the frequency I see stuff like this happen is going to remain like that, it's a compromise I'll be happy with while they improve it.

Is it ok to put demo videos in here? I've been trying to make Messi play like Messi and I've got this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kd_9so6DWxU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FWR2QQZnYc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmpVjsNoErc

No skills, no precision dribbling and no skilled dribbling. Just left analogue stick. All footage in World Class.

I'm seeing a lot of complaints about the passing being to sluggish on the fifa 12 forum. It feels ok to me for most passes. I do think that the short passes should have a bit more zip on them when you hit them with the right pressure using a team like barca. what do you guys think?

I think the passing is allright, shouldnt be faster, it would only cause ping pong passing or something. But sometimes when the pass SHOULD be harder, it's weak! Maybe the passing should be more like the WC game, but with a lot more error in one touch passes!

does anybody know if you start with a club in career mode that has qualified for Europe in real life, do you go straight into Europe the 1st season instead of having to wait a season to try and qualify.

I'm quite sure that the reason why you won't enter any european tournament in the first season, is because not every league and team that have teams that qualified for the CL or EL irl is available in the game, therefore, it needs to be a first season without it, so all the winners in the other european leagues can qualify for the european tournaments. I think it's good, cause it makes me fight harder in the first season to get a slot in one of the tournaments. If not CL, EL. So, just because I'm Man United, doesnt mean that I have a free spot to either CL or EL!
