I've not played any of the Oblivion games - what are they like in terms of gameplay? What do you have to do during the game?

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
you play in either first- or third person. you set up a character, choosing his class (mage, thief, warrior and so on) and his race. you'll start a journey through an open world, searching for quests and side quests and following the main quest line. there is always a big amount of skills of which you can choose and level up.
to be honest, I finished none of the games I played of the series, I always lost myself in sidequests and just searching and wandering aroung looking for weapons, treasures and stuff
but I did this with great pleasure!!

Oh cheers. Sounds like the kind of gameplay that's beginning to appeal to me in recent years. I was wondering whether I should get the original Oblivion game just to test it out.

I started playing 'elder scrolls' when it hit the Xbox with ' morrowind', and when I owned a Xbox360 I jumped into 'elder scrolls: oblivion'. maybe you find it for a good price, and have a look around

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Good stuff. This series belongs to a unique brand of games that allow complete freedom. This series can get confusing easily as far as exploration goes but it usually feels very big and open. This should be quite the game.

Re: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
This is, by far, my most anticipated game of the year. Looks so, so, so good
I just hope it runs smoother than Oblivion did on PS3. It was a bit choppy at times
