Yes I hope Konami encourage feedback from the actual commentators themselves. I have the feeling they do not at all. I cannot imagine Champion giving the green light to "Guess who?" if Konami consulted him about the script.

Re: PES 2012 Wishlist: Sound, Atmosphere, Commentators, Musi
1) Better crowd chants which should relate to each individual team.
2) Commentating is appauling. They talk over one another, don't relate to what the other is saying, no emotion or excitment in their voice, no apparent relation to the importance of the game. They need a complete overhaul, get them in the same room at the same time and go through various different games to get them working well.
At the moment there is NO realism in the commentating and you know their just reading off of a sheet
3) Atmosphere needs improving. More independent fans moving around, perhaps shots of fans entering the stadium and stands etc. More reaction to whats happening on the pitch, getting excited when you're attacking, eruption when you win an important game or score in the 94 minute, booing when someone is playing poorly or if the opposition keeps the ball or a bad foul etc

Re: PES 2012 Wishlist: Sound, Atmosphere, Commentators, Musi
About commentary:
As has been mentioned, there is no discussive element in the scripts. It sounds ruddy stupid when they contradict each other all the time. "Miles over", says Champion, "good effort", says Beglin.
So "the commentary engine" is all over the place. PES2011 seems to be unable to know when a ball goes wide by one centimeter and when it goes over and wide by several meters. Also, WEP team needs to define "the sample blocks" more precisely and make the commentary solid enough not to annoy anyone. We should all understand that there will never be an award-winning commentary in PES, because of many good reasons (licensing being one) but even at the moment it should be at least solid. But it's not. It's just a random jukebox, a lottery. You know what, I'd much rather take the repetitiveness instead of this "constant element of surprise".
Also there are certain scenarios when the co-commentator doesn't say anything cos the game don't happen to have any scripts for them. Yellow cards, red cards, fouls (no cards), keeper save - corner, keeper saving and holding the ball and what else. This has always been the case and I just cannot understand why. So not only should the existing scripts be rewritten, they should add totally new elements to them that have never been there before.
Although I can agree with most things said here, one thing is for certain, changing commentators doesn't necessarily solve anything, not to the extent that some may think (without proper thinking). It really doesn't. But a poll in WENB? OK, I could go with that, but only on condition that everyone could also give "no" votes to keep Ray Hudson off the commentary team.
However, I genuinely believe there aren't that many (good) commentators around for Konami to choose.
AND ABOUT CALLNAMES (I almost forgot): Champion has done thousands of callnames for PES during iterations 2008-2011, but why do you keep removing some of them every year. There are always some strange omissions, and in my opinion they are just needless. I'm talking about the plain callnames here, as in "Defoe", and not things like "here's Defoe". In PES2008 there were something like 3000 plain callnames, and as they were, they could have gone easily to PES2011 as well...

- more and versatile entrance scenes/cup winning scenes/cards/penalties/substitutions/etc.
- crowd living throe the game, raising their volume level if a ball is intercepted, if there is a goal scoring opportunity, if there is a nasty foul, if the club favorite gets in the game, etc.
- commentators bringing up stats
- how many goals some play scored in the season
- team's result streak (they won the last five, won two, drawed two, lost the last game, etc.)
- include commentaries during league games in ML (for example, if the team played a European or CL game that week, they might be tired, etc.)
- commentator react to the opportunities and goals with more enthusiasm

Re: PES 2012 Wishlist: Sound, Atmosphere, Commentators, Musi
In my opinion the whole audio needs a revamp. The chants in-game just doesn't sound like real life. There needs to be more variety of chants and the chants get recycled too quickly so we end up hearing the same chant over and over in a short space of time... Konami needs to space out the time between chants and general atmosphere in-game. AWAY CHANTS IS NEEDED!!
Bring back flags, banners, flares... I understand some of these are visible but only in cut scenes.. Bring them back during in-game play. In older PES on PS2 the crowd was great, waving huge flags, flares, tifos when it was a derby game.
Some videos of what I'm talking about, look at the crowd http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMakS1xHQSY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vcNSWhn ... re=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIqsq4ouMr0
And finally bring back the setting of crowd attendance.

Re: PES 2012 Wishlist: Sound, Atmosphere, Commentators, Musi
Take a page out of FIFA's book of authenticity.
1. Recording sessions with club fans to get chants recorded (I'm sure the sound guys at Konami wouldn't even need that, HD video of something like youtube would probably suffice). No more of this generalisation of chants to different areas of the world, the supporter scene is alot more complex than that. I think by saying this its implicit that this also means no more recordings of Japanese people in a little booth shouting Barcelona or Man U!! for chants, its incredibly cheap and tacky, would rather you didn't bother if that's the extent of effort thats going to be put in for it.
2. Commentary needs over-hauling, I think everyone knows that, 'nuff said.
3. Ability to import music into soundtracks on all platforms, having said that I thought the soundtrack last year was one of the best in a PES game ever. However could do with less generic music and more (not necessarily 'main stream) but well known, better suited music, I could make a number of playlists to show you what I mean.
4. Once again onto crowd ambience/atmosphere, different goal reaction sounds are I think in this day and age necessary and very easy to implement. Crowds supporting English/Dutch/German fans tends to sound like yes! or yeah! where as spanish/portugese/italian/south american fans all shout gooooool!, would make a world of difference to the atmosphere and not even FIFA has done that. Also look at crowd behaviour in said countries to see how they react to other situations. For instance if you're playing in El Clasico I want the crowd to be whistling (and I mean deafening) when ever the away team is on the ball. In similar vein the ground announcers could be done in a way that they do what their real counterparts would be doing in certain situations, eg. when ever Bayern Munich score a goal (I'm sure this is the situation in many other German clubs) the stadium announcer will do a call and reponse with the crowd saying the scorer's first name and the crowd shouting the last name. This also means Latin/Spanish ground announcers may shout a long gooooooooooooooooool!

Another mode/feature that I recon would be quite interesting that some people may like is something like in FIFA Street and UEFA C/L 04/05.
Firstly in FIFA Street 2 some may remember that depending on where you were playing there was a radio station that went with it. I can see this implemented mainly in Master League (maybe become a legend as well?) where theres a playlist that corresponds with the area/region the team is from. On a graphical side as well it would be super cool if in Master League mode instead of having generic backgrounds only changing through colour between different user teams, it would be awesome to see some sort of reference to landmarks or some unique aspect about each team, I think it would fit in nicely with the radio/playlist idea.
So for example for Barcelona in Master League the background would feature something like this in the background
with a corresponding playlist that features latin music and maybe even music from the area, so in this case you'd have Facto Delafe's groovy, upbeat trip hop (getting a bit ahead of myself with the last suggestion but you get what I mean).
Secondly in UEFA C/L 04/05 some people might remember there was a radio talk show sort of feature in the main UCL mode of the game which honestly I thought was brilliant. Sure you'd sometimes hear the same dialogue a few times but the idea of hearing someone talk about the game you just played (how ever vague they are), I felt it helped immerse me in the game mode very well. This could work well with the aforementioned localised radio idea, with maybe different presenters, different types of responses and such, keeping the talkshow vibe. Wouldn't it be great in the lead up to a cup final or huge derby match the build up in the game would be similar to that in real life, simulating the hype surrounding the fixture in a way that hasn't been done so in a footie game before. I understand that these suggestions would be 'luxury items' in the game and only something that could be justifiably introduced once the rest of the game's more important and core aspects are near perfected. However if small aspects of these suggestions would be implemented in the game I think people would enjoy them as I feel something that both PES and FIFA are lacking these experiences in their games and is something PES could introduce and would do alot to improve the presentation of the game which isn't the strongest aspect of PES games.

Commentary - overhaul needed (I'm playing the Portuguese version!) as there are some pretty ridiculous lines ("Até me veio o coração à boca!" for example) that co-exist with some awesome ones (mainly, the ones that have to do with specific games, like Barça vs Real, and stadiums). Also, the comentators often contradict themselves. As has already been said, take a look at NBA 2K11 for awesome comentating!
Music - I have nothing to point out. Although it is not my kind of music (I'm into Metal), it's diverse, and I praise that.
Athmosphere - the crowd needs to be more reactive to what happens in the field. They are already reactive, but there are situations, like when you miss a penalty, when they should boo a lot and so on.

Hey guys. I contacted Konami on their official website regarding atmosphere a few days ago , I had sent detailed feedback on what I felt needed improved on.
They sent me this reply not too long ago:
I had also linked this specific thread in my message to them so here's hoping they explore this whole feedback zone section and take on board some of our suggestions
They sent me this reply not too long ago:

Erm, you know, this feedback section is constantly (more or less) watched by Konami and created for the simple and only purpose of feeding back to the development team
So, keep loads of ideas coming!

- greater variation in crowd chants
- crowd enthusiasm dependent on circumstances of the match (e.g. more intense in cup final/relegation battles/derbies)
- bring back the derby support option!
- allow for away support chants to be tied to individual teams
- increase commentary level of interaction with on-pitch action - make more reference to how players are doing in the season
- increase activity of supporters in stands (e.g. holding up scarves before the match, waving banners, etc.)
- make supporters true to life based on region (e.g. flares in Italy, riots in s. America

- General sounds:
Why is the whistle of the referee only 1 out of 3 times audible? That must be fixed, becomes very annoying at times. The players/managers calling onto the field is nice, but can be improved in terms of variety and languages.- Atmosphere:
The audience is still very quite/strange. If you win a cup or a league, they don't explode in happiness (what they should do). More dynamic reactions to the game, e.g. if the opponent scores, a bad tackling, boring match.- Commentator:
I can only speak for the German one. It has improved compared to PES 2010, but it's still far from perfect. Try to get more than 2 commentators and mix them for every match. Add new and dynamic lines, add much more context.
Allow the Commentators to call the names of the Referees before and during the matches and let there be 4 Commentators on PES 2012. The Audience on PES 2011 is boring and quite which needs improvements especially on FINALS, scoring a goal and many more. Display Fans Close-Ups before and during matches on PES 2012. Allow the Commentators to call all the Clubs names on PES League since they are created by Konami and the PES team.

Sorry, i think it would be better if they try and Bench mark NBA 2k. Why? Fifa's commentary gets repetitive after 1 month. Its the Same thing. NBA 2k's updates every day, the lines are written so that the game takes player/ team stats and inserts it into the commentary to make it relevant to the moment when you are playing the game. What it also does is during half time show it breaks down the scores from previous games and informs you of the top scorer and who outplayed who. The game also introduces the each match up with a commentator by acknowledging what time of the day it is(morning, afternoon, evening) and hyping the match up by either talking about previous history between teams or highlighting the score of the last game between the teams. The commentary also tells you keys to the game and how each team should approach the game to achieve success. Finally it mentions the players that will be key to the teams success and how they performed last game.
This should be the bench mark, anything else is disappointing as far as i am concerned.
I agree with this 100% if you follow any sports game it's gonna be NBA 2K11 as that is the benchmark that even the likes of FIFA should follow.
I would like to see an actual bit of emotion with the commentators as well depending on the importance and quality of the goal.
If it's the winning goal late on in the CL final you wanna here something like ' Is this the goal that has just taken them to the promised land.' or if it's an equaliser 'Game on it's up for grabs now!'
Please get rid of the silly shouting from the generic manager shouting it's ANNOYING and pointless.
Please add the National anthams for all teams or the option to add the national anthems as that is a class touch.

More casual commentary, and comments about certain players and teams e.g. due 2 licenseing terms you wont b able to say chelsea, but comment "One of the best in their league, and have a handful of top players two, didier drogba frank lampard..."
if Konami were 2 do something like this and/or adapt onto my idea that wud be great!
also make the ROAR of the crowd seem grateful for a late minute winner, corresponding 2 the commentators who will have a dramatic tone on their voice.
also i have noticed that konami's chants ( even though there are many 2 choose from in edit mode) sound like italian and spanish chants, PLEASE FOCUS A LITTLE BIT MORE ON THE BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE even though you havnt got the license but create their atmosphere realistic 2 the actual leagues atmosphere

O BTW also bring bak the close up cams of the fans like in pes 2008, this is seen in real football as we all saw it alot in the world cup 2010, this can depend on if their team is winning and will be emotionally happy, or on verge of winning a title they will be going crazy and b excitied, or on the other hand if they are knocked out of about to be their face will be upset
ALSO more crowd activity, scarves, flags and banners too add a lot of atmosphere and even some occassions flares
like the red ones in bayern munich games

Check out the supporters here. It needs to sound like this when you score an important goal. Offcourse not during every goal, variety is the key here I guess.

The fan shouldn't be so passive in the game. In real-life, fans can be the difference between a team winning and losing. The fans in PES should play a more active role in the outcome of matches. If I'm playing a major European club away from home, I want to be intimidated by them but I'm not. If I play Barcelona at the Nou Camp in PES 2011, it doesn't feel like I'm playing Barcelona away. Every single team should play a lot better when they are playing at home.
Football is ecstasy, anguish, joy and despair
It's theatre, art, war and love
It should be predictable ... but never is
It's a feeling that can't be explained but we spend our lives explaining it
