I'm actually sick of this game. Going to trade it in against an actual decent game

Just racing in Turkey. I'm 8th, di Grassi is 24th. 6 laps in di Grassi stops. and i stop some 5 laps later. Guess what? di Grassi is now in front of me. I'm sorry but that's bollocks

The AI is definitely not effected by tyre wear, without doubt. In fact 6 laps in Liuzzi was lapping so fast i was struggling to keep him behind me and when he finally past, due to me running wide, he was so fast he actually disappeared after 1 lap. The same when i got to lap 15. The AI seemed to just get faster and faster. I won't be getting F1 2011 on release, that's for sure

EDIT: di Grassi was 22nd, sorry. I took out 2 cars on the first 2 corners by which i mean they crashed into me, damaged their front wing and retired...

Purchased this game twice since release  I wanted it to be good and playable but there were just so many issues, such as the ones described in this thread. Shame. I'll also wait before buying this on day one next year.

GT5 comes out tomorrow, looks like an easy option if you are going to trade it ?

The problem i've always had with GT is that the opponents look like they're out for a Sunday drive. At least in F1, despite it's many, many, many faults, the AI actually tries to hassle you and the other AI drivers. They push too hard and spin

Oh i wish this game had less bugs :(

Thats the main reason im undecided about getting rid. On its day, if you get lucky and dont experience any of its issues, its a damn good game. You actually feel accomplishment when you win.
But when you do see its bugs, it makes you want to snap the disc.

Dont want GT5, I dont like the way the other players drive, as Danny said, they all drive slow and smooth, doest make for interesting racing. Also, I just read that despite having 1000 cars, only 200 are what they call "premium" cars, which look shiny.

The other 800, look worse, and dont even have a cockpit view. Half arsed job that is.

Let me tell you something about the cars in GT5. What they call premium cars is what i call GT5 cars, those cars really look damn good. And then we have the so called standard cars or how i call them GT4 cars. These cars look like they're just upscaled gt4 cars with rough dodgy edges and stuff like that. They're are really looking ugly in close ups which is a shame, you can't even take photos of them or tune them properly. On top the ugly shadows. Voila.

Don't get me wrong though, it's still a fun game.

Yeah thats what I gathered from the review I read.

Kind of half arsed if you ask me. Its taken them this long to make it, and they dont even do all the cars properly.

Im sure no one would care if there was only 500 cars instead of 1000, but they all looked the dogs.

Ive only done two time attacks and im enjoying it. Fun to feel the difference between a V10 4wd (lambo) and a Rwd V8 (SLS).

The one thing im so happy about is that the cars actually sound different!

Decided to play this today after watching a video of someone playing it.

And finally, it behaved itself. Managed to do the Turkish grand prix and finished 10th.
Had some bloody hairy moments. Going round the first corner on about the 10th lap (i was overtaking both Sutil and Schumacher in the one go), on the exit of the corner there's a car across the track. Had to turn really quickly to avoid him, schumacher wasn't so lucky.

Then, going into the final lap, i'm in 10th. Sutil is behind me and gaining quite fast due to my nervousness
I run wide on a corner, Sutil makes his move and establishes a good gap. Manage to close the gap through turn 8 (the fast complex of corners) and then close it even more through 9 and 10. I get into his slipstream and out-brake him into turn 12 and stay ahead for the last 2 corners.

:D :D :D

Amazingly, despite all it's bugs and it's raising of my blood pressure, i'm still playing this...

It was Montreal this time. I've only done Qualifying but managed 3rd in my Virgin
Would have been pole but unfortunately i could only do 4 laps at most in Q1 due to it starting to rain. Basically i was three tenths off on the second lap (which ended up being my best) but on my 3rd i was 6 tenths up on my best through the first sector but i threw it all away on one corner in the second sector :(

Well yet another frustrating effort and enjoying this game.

Silverstone - a track I fucking hate - I start 15th, start on primes so I dont need to pit till lap 7, I get up to first, with a good lead. Go into the pits, come out 4th, right behind 3 Renaults and Alonso. 3 laps to go, I take 3rd, then the very next corner, am rammed from behind and spun, down to 6th. The very next corner, it happens again, down to 10th.

And what happens? Nothing. No penalties for them whatsoever, despite the fact they clearly took me out. If I had done that id have been penalised.

I got so pissed off I just turned the game off. I know it sounds like bitter losing, but I honestly dont mind coming 10th if its fair. To come 10th because the CPU just rams me off the track is infuriating.

I really need to get rid of this game, but there are no racing games out I want yet.

I feel your pain. I hate when the computer does that

Managed 5th in Montreal. Kept Hamilton behind me, amazingly, for the whole race. Thought what happened you, would happen me. Hamilton kept closing up loads on the straights, so at the end of the straights i'd be waiting for the collision

After calming down I had another go, came 5th which is the best I could do, but the game did that stupid "Hamilton is awesome" thing again, despite me being in 1st miles ahead of him, he caught me in less than 2 laps after his pitstop.

Just had the perfect race at Hockenheim.

Qualified 1st, started on primes so I could pit late. Built up a big lead, pitted in 1st, came out in 1st, finished 1st.

Literally didnt see anyone else, won by 13 seconds in the end.

Surprised me as I was half expecting the game to make Hamilton catch me by the time it came to my pitstop, but he didnt, in the end he came 4th. Still 60 points behind him in the championship though.

Congrats 8-)
I've yet to win a race, my best being 5th in Canada.

Valencia's next which will be a massive struggle as the car's far too slow

I really need to get my backside back on this but the bugs put me off playing it for ages and am I right in saying, that Codemasters have yet still not sorted out a lot of the bugs that are present in the game since release?

Totally agree Danny as ive had some magic races on it but its just a shame that some of the bugs are in there. Please tell me the pit one has been sorted? (i.e where you get stuck behind a shed load of cars)

There's varying degrees of success on that. Some people think it's fixed, others say it's not. Personally i've not had it happen as bad as when the game was initially released. They're still possibly too hesitant on releasing your car.

I'd recommend leaving Fuel simulation off though

The annoying pit limiter problem still exists though, which is highly annoying. Even though you've crossed the line and can turn off the pit limiter (in real life) the game keeps it on and you have to wait an age for it to turn off
