Remember that scene from “The Day After Tomorrow” when the apocalypse sort of went away for no apparent reason – even though Sony didn’t release a patch for it – and everyone got all weepy and started hugging?
Well, this is kind of like that. Kind of.
Reports flooding in from all corners of the Internet are heralding the dawn of a new day, which – as many predicted – seems to be just what the doctor ordered for Sony’s ailing PS3. Fluids and bed rest makes the PR nightmare go away. Just like our moms taught us!
Also, if you’re still losing sleep over your precious trophy collection, you can stop knocking back the knockout pills now. Your trophies are safe and sound, and should be syncing correctly again.
So, that’s that, then. Crisis averted. Now then, there’s an Origami Killer that needs stopping. You know what to do.

I've learned, that you did not lose them. You just have to put the game back in, then synchronize your trophies, and BAM, there you go. (Still needs to be proven, anyway).

Can't say I've had anything like that, everything seems to have went back to normal. Is this issue stopping you from doing anything i.e. playing games online etc...?

Re: PSN problems
Ever since the 29th Feb bug, I'm having server errors (DNS errors) and the PS3 signing itself out of the Playstation Network. Called Sony, they said: 'it doesn't seem to be a playstation related issue, contact your internet provider'.

Ive been having the same problem but its not when im online in a game but when im on the XMB for some odd reason which to me, sounds like its a Sony problem and nothing else. Surely if it was a 'service provider' issue, then i would be getting booted while in-game as well. Is it the same for you? or do you get booted all the time, regardless?

More often than not, it auto-signs me into the PSN but sometimes after changing games over I get signed out and it takes obout 8 or 9 attampts to sign back in again. also i get those DNS errors when looking at my trophies etc... which sounds similar to your problem Gari

Yeah our problems we are having do sound very similar indeed but believe it or not, when i was logged in earlier on my U.S PSN account (for about 30 mins without playing a game) it didnt log me out tonight. Very odd. I will indeed keep an eye on it but i expect the problem to come back again at some point as i never seem to have much luck with stuff like this

Re: PSN problems
One thing i really hate about firmware updates is that i have to continually sign in to different websites despite having them on "remember me". Even here
And today's update caused my Dualshock to be unusable unless i had it plugged in and i couldn't connect to the internet. Thankfully, it worked alright when i turned it off and turned it on again

Re: PSN problems
Heard about messages going around, set up by hackers who get peoples credit card info if they follow it up.
I got one this morning from one of my friends. It just states "go here - PS3codegenerators.com" or something similar. Of course i didnt do it. I warned the guy about what he was doing, he apologized and just said it received it and was told to pass it on.
So keep an eye out for these dodge messages and warn your friends.

Still though.
Its actually a lot more common than i imagined. All my friends got it, i told them all about it so its ok. it seems to be a hot topic around the web. Like danny, your not too bad if you dont have a credit card, not much of my friends do either. We all use 3V, but still, they will have your log in info and its still possible they could do some damage, unlikely but possible.
If you have gone thru with it, you would be best off to change your log in info, just to be safe.
Gari made a post about it on the blog, check it out if you want.

Re: PSN problems
Dont know whether i should post this here or in the GTA thread, anyway.
I bought and downloaded The Ballad Of Gay Tony today, for those of you who are unfamiliar, its the recent DLC for GTAIV. Anyway, it seems i cant get by the first, lets say, 20 mins of the game and it freezes. Tried again and the audio went but when it went to the loading screen it just stuck there.
Really frustrating as i was in the mood to get stuck into it.
Just wondering, anyone else experience these problems?
Any solutions?
Im gonna try again later and see what happens, also do a bit of browsing around the web.

Re: PSN problems
I bought the disc version and its fine so It must just be a DL version problem. Very frustrating though it must be. The one thing I would suggest is to delete it and re-download it as that might well get rid of the problem. Give it a go mate.
