PES2013 NEWS, DISCUSSION, VIDEOS & SCREENS (Part 8)
Re: PES2013 NEWS, DISCUSSION, VIDEOS & SCREENS (Part 8)
PES doesant need to hit big numbers , so this make it or break it thing is old and uneeded.
PES 14 has no burden on it. what so ever.
We will still play it and buy it.
Because we have been doing it for so long , that anything which is fresh is a releif.
We only have two footie games on the market. I cant justify playing one.
Playing PES 12 after FIFA just seems refreshing and a good experiance.
PES 13 JUST NEEDS TO BE CONSISTENCE in giving us great gameplay.

It looks so....basic. Like it's been done in Paint or something.
There's a difference between 'Simple' and 'Basic' Konami....
i think this is for a percific mode only.
Its disastrous to think this is the official screen .. it looks PS ONE and horrid.

Re: PES2013 NEWS, DISCUSSION, VIDEOS & SCREENS (Part 8)
The video was not particularly great. It is clear and has been stressed by the WENB team many times that the gameplay doesn't shine in video form. With every new video all I can think is 'Damn, I wish the new engine was for this year.' but the proof of the pudding is in the eating and that dessert is the demo (Alan Partridge mode, sorry). My expectations are low at the minute, I don't expect to be blown away but I'm not going to completely write the game off yet. If the demo shows little to differentiate it from 2012 I may consider skipping this year, which would be for the first time in about 8 years.
As bad as some of the games have been this generation, every new version was a big improvement on the previous one. Admittedly there was a lot of ground to make up, but with 2012 and this it is much more incremental as the technology is at its very limit. This of course happens at the end of every generation, however, it is hard to shake the feeling that most of the resources, manpower and effort is being focussed on next year/next gen and beyond.
Bring on that demo.

The ML training looks detailed and primising. I've seen personal training is back. Nice to see.
Gameplay looks more fluid, even if still similar to PES 2012.
I agree that the presentation screen could use more work, but the other screens look very good, so may be they'll fix it.

i think the facebook stuff is just to make it look a bit more current and to try and get you n your mates to blog your results to reach a bigger market.
spose its like cheap advertising.
i thought the video was alright,i like the training mode to show you how to do certain things like trap n flicks etc and theres an rpg element to a mode (not sure which one tbh),which i like as well.
agree the kits n fake names look ugly and sort of shows pes in a basic light, making it look dated.
at the end of the day though its still all about the gameplay.
if the gameplay is good and you got your option file then who cares-right?

Re: PES2013 NEWS, DISCUSSION, VIDEOS & SCREENS (Part 8)
I have no beef with the presentation screen. Simpler is better. But I would however want to see more tactical options in the next video, what's and how's. Also, a wee bit more about Football Life and Master League (offline).
Further more, some of the shots is the game didn't feel quite right for me. To clunky. It happens at 1:33 in the video. The skip between trap and shot animation and the way he hits the ball (and the way the ball goes) just doesn't seem right.
But it's of no consequence until I get my hands on time.

What PES (Winning Eleven) has established in the past lives on forever! Even if they'd never make another footie game; in PES's universe there is no make it or brake it! (too much love for the game world wide)
Curious towards PES 2014, joyful about the nearing PES 2013 (nice info in the video today!)

But seriously, my take is go back to Winning eleven next year, when the new engine is in place. The brand "Pes" or "Pro Evo" has be tarnished badly this gen. New engine, new name and a fresh start
Well I think it all started with a podcast last year where Suff said he would welcome a name change, for the same reasons.
When it comes to rebranding, I'm open to it as I know it can influence people's mindset. Similar to how when you see a restaurant advertise 'under new management'.
But like Danny said, all we want is a good game. The brand in itself is only tarnished in certain parts of the world, namely here in the UK. Elsewhere the brand is regarded very highly.
Are we as a gaming nation too superficial in terms of licences and animations, for ke the GK anikations just ruin it for me and totally turn me off the game(strange I know :-p). It the same with licences back in the good old days I'd
Ube trying to convert people even by preaching option files but as soon as I said not licensed they were like NO WAY!

Facebook is needed
My pes looks like it's going to be more detailed with all sort of info
When you open a store, shop ,etc etc the first and biggest thing you look for and pay the most money for Footfall ,the number of people that walk past your business per day ,week ,month ,year . Facebooks is hundreds of millions .
Now if you like football and see Mypes on facebook with all the info and charts and stats you would be very tempted to look further and the youth of today would like very much to see on facebook they beat there mates and in school it huge ,the will be a player who are the best and other will look to take them down ,even playing the game between there club due to meet that week end in the prem ,it can snowball from that . It's cheap way of having a year round advert.
Those who think it won't have that effect need to think agian as it's it why Facebook has done so well being able to see what other are doing /and it help the players with the girl
Wish some would stop making out that game making and marketing is simple . It was like last year when they released the CR7 video and no one pointed out it was the El clasico few day after and he had put it on his twitter and facebook page ,over 50m people . That shit is priceless in marketing terms

Fintan Stack wrote:didgeHague wrote:So the people who have continued to play PES shouldn't be their priority?
Granted I dont see the benefit of the facebook integration but if it generates more revenue, then surely thats a good thing? They don't need to "attract people back" because that would mean concentrating on tech to the detriment of the gameplay.....
If they nail gameplay this year (which they should have done from the start to be honest) they can do all that attracting back next year...their priority should creating a pes that is gameplay first and foremost.
Mate, no offence to anyone who continued to play it, that was their choice, their money etc, but they are partly to blame for the mess the series found itself in and is currently trying to dig itself out of. Nonsense you say? I say this: Call of Duty.
So because i still play pes and buy every years edition im the blame for the mess the pes series is in now??
Think everybody is making it sound worse then it really is.
One pes that nails the game play is all it takes. And yes im buying 2013 an 2014 sorry for making a mess for you
