PES2013 NEWS, DISCUSSION, VIDEOS & SCREENS (Part 7)
Re: PES2013 NEWS, DISCUSSION, VIDEOS & SCREENS (Part 7)
PC version of the game is of tertiary importance for Konami. Unlike EA, Konami always ported their game from consoles to PC so we would all get the same game. In PS2 era they ported from PS2, and now they port it from Xbox. I don't see this changing in the future, but I could be wrong.

You would not see all the elements of the full blown FE until it was on the new consoles, question is, will that count for the PC version next year?
I take it that a PC will be able to handle all assets of the FE, that being the case do you think PES14 for the PC will have all the bells and whistles of the FE on show, or will they release a "limited" 360-PS3 FE - PES14 over all 3 versions.
My understanding is different. They will only use parts (and adapt others), not because of generational limitations, but because a football sim is as different beast altogether (from other game types). Different types need different things from an engine. Some will probably remember me expressing reservations (others will surely not) a few months ago, because of this same reason. The FE wasn't a perfect fit for a sports sim. That is why (as I understood from the statements emanating from Konami, regarding this subject) they are only using the parts relevant to a sports sim, while adapting/developing others. Think of it as different flavour of the Fox Engine (they also added that a name for this incarnation wasn't available yet).
Peace
Ok, I get where you are coming from , but surely even a version of the FE for PES, Konami will be able to do more with it on PC PS4 and 720 than on the PS3 and 360.
You are absolutely right mate. No question about it.
Peace

this 's not true
konami always and currently EA "since 2012" has the same versions for all the 3 major platforms ps3 , xbox360 , pc
but the difference is the original platform
for konami , they build it at first on the pc then port it to ps3 and xbox360
fo EA , it's built originally for consoles then ported to the pc
and this explains why the pc version of pes does not suffer some of the known issues of pes on consoles "in the previous years"
also explains why the pc version of fifa 12 has serious performance and optimization issues that cause some terrible lags with dual core processors and most of the high end graphic cards
apparently the original platform of each game has much less bugs than the platforms to which it's ported

Unlike EA part was about previous versions of the game. PES was always same on all platforms.
As for porting part, I could be wrong. I just don't like this Xbox buttons we have now on PC, we had PS ones back in PS2 days. They made me believe it was ported from the Xbox.
I am a PC player and I must say that I play PES2012 on high settings and highest resolution and I only get small frame drop once or twice during a match, and I can't even start FIFA12, game freezes during some tutorial stuff on the beginning.

May be in 2014 Konami could make the old consoles version with lowered features and a full next generation version on PC, to start testing the full power of the new engine.
I really hope they'll catch the chance to develop a full next generation version on PC next year.

Yeah.. spesific graphical settings.. AA, AF, textures, shadow, lighting etc.. even if it will some how look much better compared to consoles, i don't mind they release pc version 1-2 month later.. in case of sales issue probably.
25 July demo so far :
1. CPU ai attacking/defensive play and balance --> almost there, need more passing around
2. Cpu crazy-dribbling and crazy one-twos then direct shot exist --> nope
3. Overall graphic colour and night match lighting --> fine, except horrible night match

I believe that the PC versions will more or less be similar to console versions - i dont think Konami would do such a move come PES2014.
it's now july ..... demo time soon and i'm expecting news regarding release date for the game

Since they're gonna release second demo for final game tease... wouldn't it be better if they call it beta or whatever that reflects still on-going development.. just thinkin.. :p

I hope first PES 2013 demo will be playable. First PES 2012 demo has awful shooting. Sometimes it was impossible to score a goal.

I really hope that konami express the development stage of the first demo, hopefully some fifa fans will give it a shot over the summer-seeing as fifa 12 has become a bit stale and the euro 2012 DLC was massively disappointing.
There is definitely a need for a football game that focuses on the other side of the sport,FIFA is really pleasing the casual gamer at the minute with the Ultimate team mode, and this seems to have introduced a new audience to the genre as now I stumble across video's on youtube where the uploader(s) knowledge of football is based purely on the stats and gameplay mechanics within FIFA. This in itself seems to create a community that play to win, using ways of playing the game that reward the user eg. excessive use of one-two's,finesse shots from 25 yards and aggressive tactics that are learnt from the engine's flaws and not from having knowledge of real-life footballers, tactics and match situations.
So I'm hoping that PES continues along the route of trying to reward gamers who have knowledge of the actual sport and can see their knowledge transferred onto the pitch,a game that rewards tactical knowledge in the same way the football manager series does would definitely fill the hole FIFA leaves in the market, and thankfully it does look like PES is recognizing this and moving in the right direction.

Couldn't agree more really. FIFA is a terrible representation of the sport right now, I'd say it was much better in FIFA 08/09, the fact is anyone can be good at it just by exploiting the engine, exploiting the lack of realistic movement physics and using the tried and tested ways of scoring.
