PES2013 NEWS, DISCUSSION, VIDEOS & SCREENS (Part 5)
Re: PES2013 NEWS, DISCUSSION, VIDEOS & SCREENS (Part 5)
Amazing feedback colossal, you must have a lot of knowledge about animation. Everyone knows the animations still have issues despite how much they seem to have improved since PES 2008, there is still something robotic and unnatural about them and this guy has just gone through it with a tooth comb to explain why. I reckon this feedback should be put to Konami so they can feed it through to the team working on the new PES engine for next-gen.
P.S didn;t see the bit about it being worse than a student demo etc. I think that is unecessary, we know the limitations of the engine they are currently working with and in that respect the new animations are a vast improvement over what we have seen before.

99% of us are buzzing so I'm cool with it.
Swear though if I hear the words 'nets' or 'socks' again I might just explode. True story.

It's small things for us that care about gameplay above everything else. But it shouldn't be small things for Konami wants to stop the "robotic" label. Why shouldn't we have awesome gameplay and awesome tech (animations, etc) on the next gen? Everyone loves good looking things
Think PES 2013 looks technically "good enough" anyway, but it won't be enough for next-gen.

About the news: OH BRING IT ON! I wonder if Adam knew about it before starting the podcast.
This surely means more leagues in ML...which only makes the experience even better. Can't wait to hear more about it. Katania Media has been dropping bombshells this week from E3. Bravo.

Gameplay is fundamental, If we are lucky enough and a demo is planned to drop in July, then we will have a lot of time to give feedback back to Japan. I'm kinda happy, this year the game is being developed differently and I believe this closeness to the fan base is the right way for the series. The mix of developer ideas and fan knowledge about the game can create wonders for the series. Cheers guys and have a great first day of EURO 2012!

There are small things though and then there's nitpicking. Also, we know the animations aren't great and so do Konami, i'm sure of that.
But picking out where arms should be going and legs being too muscley is a bit extreme.

It's not that, everyone has their own opinions on what is important and what they'd like to see in the game the most but I think we can all agree that PES once again becoming a solid game which is addictive like hell and no doubt the best on the market is what we all want to get back, something we had in the PS2 days.
Considering what PES has been through on this generation of consoles, after being absolutely unbelievable to quite poor at times in a matter of 2 or 3 years has been tough, the game is finally looking more and more promising each year and it looks a top prospect this time around, therefore I think 99% of people don't care in the slightest how long the players' socks are.
Whatever is important to you mate we respect that but the main aim is to get PES back to what it is, not little things like socks or nets.

Firstly the technical quality of animation does have an impact on gameplay so you can't say the guy is not caring about gameplay.
Secondly back in the day everyone had their little fetishes and preferences about pro evo, the little things that made it stand out from the competition like sock tape, untucked shirts and stuff. it was just accepted and was a cool aspect of the fanbase. Perhaps you guys are newcomers or something that don't remember those times. Either way im not going to be postiing anymore, dont like the animosity on display here.

Ive been playing every PES since the ISS days and of course there are things that we would like to see in the game and people are all going to have an opinion.
Every game, at the end of the day is based on it's gameplay. Sure, visuals are important but if the game has an addictive gameplay, then people are going to enjoy it.

Re: PES2013 NEWS, DISCUSSION, VIDEOS & SCREENS (Part 5)
I don't think its the right time or game to start nitpicking such level of details. We are on the verge of receiving one of the best football games if they keep up with the level of game-play detail they have shown us until now. With all that, we are still trying to keep a level mind on what could be accomplished in this console gen after a disastrous start. So being where the game is at the moment, compared to where it was, its a great sign of things to come. I, myself, cant wait to get my hands on it and give a good crack. After all, all these small details are null when playing the game. We wont be playing it on slow motion replay al the way through.

Spot on. Yesterday before I managed to sleep, I started to wonder what else could they be bringing back. They really seem to be listening to what the community wants and are slowly correcting all the wrongs. I think Masuda is the right guy to get the series back on track and restore some of the features we all miss from the PS2 days
