If manual shooting is not an option, it's a fail.
Period.
The same method of the trigger button for manual passing was a fail. Will be a fail for shooting too.

Why the hell can't they just add a option to choose between semi-manual and manual.

I got high hopes for pes 2013 but if i have to press a button along with other buttons EVERYTIME to have manual shooting, then it sucks. Period.

Bah.

My thoughts exactly. Obviously if a player invests serious time and effort into learning the controls then it'll be second nature, but it'll certainly requires dexterous fingers. :D

You can invest time and efforts to learn it, but as it was for passing, the trigger method just sucks and is fucking wrong.
It's impractical, period.
If they can't understand this, hen they'd better give up.
The game must be intuitive, if for everything i have to press 3-4-5 buttons at the same time, or even just have to press 2 buttons to do a simple and basic thing such as passing or shooting, it's a fail.

Sorry to be so negative but it's so wrong. I don't really get why they went fo the impractical trigger button method again. Not enough facepalm for this.

Hopefully they'll do that with the shooting.

Yeah.. to be more user friendly.. Making it split screen in the interface would be nice too, so we don't have to wait other human player..

Konami could put "semi assisted" as default (unchangeable) shooting, passing, config. Leaving L2 as a modifier for "Assisted" vs "Manual" ...

Wait how about crossing.. ? Really need power bar for this
25 July demo so far :
1. CPU ai attacking/defensive play and balance --> almost there, need more passing around
2. Cpu crazy-dribbling and crazy one-twos then direct shot exist --> nope
3. Overall graphic colour and night match lighting --> fine, except horrible night match

The point is that we already experienced the trigger button thing with passing, and it's awful and impractical. To have to press a button for every pass if you want it manual, was terrible. They said it's the same thing for shooting. Shooting gives you even less time than passing, and you have to learn to press at least 2 buttons (or more) everytime you want to shoot just to be able to have a basic thing such as being able to put the ball roughly where you want.

Let's say ths: for me, and many others, it sucked to have to press the trigger button for manual passing. If it works the same, it will suck for me even for shooting and will ruin the game. For me, at least.

I'll wait till i try the game obviusly. I don't really give much credit to hands-on or impressions.

We'll see. So far, doesn't sound promising to me. At all. I don't really get why they went for the trigger button approach again, after it already failed with passing.

No doubt the shooting and passing will be improved, will be better and will be intuitive.
I have no problem if manual shooting is not an option, as long as it works, because I see true manual as something where you use straight off no need to have to press a secondary button I have faith that Konami can pull of a true manual game because PES is about the freedom of the whole pitch, that's the PES I grew to love and
admire so I'm looking forward to finally playing manual passing and shooting without the need of a secondary button press.

I expect shooting should be about where you aim with the left stick (Xbox360) and how much you power up, if you want to put curl on the ball then of course press your RB (Xbox360) as well as how much power you press on the shoot button (X), so yeah I'm hoping that manual shooting takes a wee bit of skill but I want the ball to go where I'm directing it to.

so far what we've been hearing from Brazil yesterday is that guys who played the game were impressed with the shooting so we'll see if we are when we get to try the game out.

I wouldn't worry we'll get to try the game out for ourselves and when Adam comes back we can ask him questions about the passing and shooting in the meantime.

I want them to completely remove the "Pass Assistance" option, it's drives me crazy when I play online against some one who chose Barca and "Pass Assistance 4". Because of this simple option the game becomes very boring, at least for me. Regarding manual shooting, I hope there won't be any options, if it's manual so manual for all, it's football for f*ck sake, you have to learn how to play before you start playing.

Also night matches looks terrible, something need to be done in this area.

What would you guys prefer?
Having pass assistance levels from 0 to 4 or just have assisted, manual or semi-assisted.

Also everyone is drooling over the shooting here whilst I'm just thinking about Player ID which they said very good. Finally Xavi can pass like Xavi and Song can do his trademark lofted pass or Messi with his incisive runs. Or even Scholes (If he's gonna be there as he could sign a 1 year contract with Man U) with his high passes. Not a lot of talk about animations but that could be kept a surprise

Neither, like 2011 just one setting for me. I'm not saying exactly as it was for 2011 but just one setting for all.

Oh man thats so true, i lost all the Joy to play once i get a night game, the washed colours, the lack of atmosphere, the pitch colour its all wrong. Thats the reason why i avoid playing MLO competitions, because all the games are at night, and on top of that some guys choose the weather rainy

Day games turns the game in a completly different game, giving me more joy to play, because it as some atmosphere, or at least a little bit more colour end glamour...
