Having customisable cameras has nothing to do with the game engine,(whose existance seems to become an excuse for every easiily fixable flaw of the game nowadays). It's quite easy to become fully customizable, but I believe KONAMI will avoid doing it because they dont want everybody to rip on them for copying an element fifa had first. They could make it customisable anytime they wanted.

PES had customisable cams on the PS2 so they wouldn't be copying anything. But the issue i think is with the engine not being able to keep the game looking good in certain cameras. They don't want people being able to zoom etc only for the game to look horrific.

TBH though, im playing on PC now and thought custom cam would be the nuts but i never actually use it, just stick to pitchside.

About the constant asking about customizable camera ,the engine can't do that.If you have a PC version and tried to tweak the camera in an unusual position ,you will see empty black space behind the Managers.
That means that the stadiums in PES 2012 aren't fully 3D desgined ,unlike PS2 stadiums which were fully 3D.As you could see the four stands in PS2 but only 3 stands these days.
So stop asking for something that won't be achieved without at least new stadium designs.

I haven't really noticed this being a problem. I personally don't care about custom cams but i can see why people would.

the problem isn't the talk itself. They keep asking for it in PES2013 while Adam mentioned it needs a new engine. So no point in asking for it in again ,that's all.

Agreed. Custom cams should be standard fare by now really. Just makes sense.

Don't agree with you because you forgot about one the most important thing. Edit on PC make community not KONAMI. If something not working properly it doesn't mean it's engine problem. It's not legal way for edit. Do you know what i mean? Do you seriously think that camera zoom can not be in this engine??? No way.....

By konami's way of development ,it may still there due to that old engine (I agree with that). But I think they can't make it work and looks good on many camera angles, heights or zooms.

That's why you can find that the camera angle affects gameplay and don't forget the poor LOD.
To be honest there's no excuse for Konami (at 2012 and their fifth game on PS3).Sadly it's the truth :( :(

Let alone the poor collision detection and loosing control over you players :x
There are many problems there ,I hope they can solve some of them next year.

Yes maybe you are right. In 2012 in particular in football games customize cameras should be a standard. I think it's not really engine problem but KONAMI. Do you remember how long we had to wait for normal nets? Do you remember how long we had to wait for "normal" gloves? Do you remember how long we had to wait for normal pace? The same problem is right now with cameras. KONAMI very slow change mentality of PES. It's my opinion.
