Say what now? PES needs so much more than new animations...

Pes needs to be redone frankly. And it wont happen for this gen, so just hope that developers have inside knowlegde and know when next gen is so they can start developing, cant stand playing any footy game after my last matches with pes and fifa.

But when a game is perfect, they can work on animations to finish the visual presentation of a perfect game.

Everyone can play football. I want that in PES.

So so true, Swansea are a great side and should be noticed in PES

Sounds tasty. Eagerly anticipating first gameplay video.

Hope not, but you could be right. I don't see a next-gen PES coming until PES 2015 (Fall 2014) to be honest. So that probably means Konami producing 2 more PES games using the current "engine", for lack of a better word. I have a feeling the next 2 PES games will be good games though. No reason they shouldn't be.

The dog in the street can see what PES 2013 needs. Its the following:

1. Most importantly the removal of the Speed Merchant Card (ridiculous addition to the game that single handedly destroys it!). A game without any of these players in it is a joy to play

2. Improved passing and shooting

3. Improved animations

4. A more balanced MLO (Master League Online). By this I mean salary caps for each team so it doesnt become utterly boring ie. Pato, Lavezzi and co. up front.

5. Each team should only be allowed a maximum 21 man squad made up of so many rated between 90-100, 80-89, 70-79 and so on.

5. The removal of another ridiculous addition this year! The Roller Coaster effect Form Guide whereby you have to keep adjusting your team ie. selling down form players and bringing in those on a a green arrow and upwards.

6. A complete over haul of the online server. Pathetic to still get lag in games in this day and age! And even more pathetic that there is some kind of disconnect cheat and Konami are seemingly doing feck all about it! Its plain to see who the cheats are going by their match completion percentage!!!

7. Much improved keepers!!!

Anyone agree with this or can make additions?

Re: PES2012 NEWS, DISCUSSION, VIDEOS & SCREENS (Part 46)

Postby Unlimited PL » Sat Mar 17, 2012 10:26 pm

After all, PES on the previous generation was once heavily rebuilt engine, this was with the advent of PES 3, then it's just improving the game engine and play gameplay scheme (remember it to this day that once went out arcade game-PES4 and PES5-time simulation, a mix of both time-PES6). So I think that KCET writing this engine, took into account its development, I hope so, because the game need to be more plastic in the movement of players on the pitch, does not want everyone to become a model for fifa, because this game isn't well designed animation, especially in the field of physics and working muscles and timing. After what wrote Adam I hope that finally, since the FIFA 09 game of some good football, indeed I hope that finally a game of football that is the best PES as the good old days. 8-)

Certainly welcome the info on improve pass system(system of PES 2012 irritates me), maybe we'll get a more transparent pass system and juicy, with less tolerance for error, but also the other side with greater their feeling. Shooting, I hope it had fewer scripts and although the ball will fly in the direction you lean out analog. General it would be good for the game had two settings, as Alan said in the broadcast. That is one close to the manual setting(Let the level of one/two bar like in PES 2012..), and second full manual, without unnecessary settings and slides.

I agree with all of those, although I'm not to familiar with the online related issues you mention. Numbers 2 and 3 are huge for me though. Shooting must be improved (more whip, curl and consistency) for me to enjoy PES again. And improved animations will not only make the game so much more playable and attractive but will help provide us with that feel good factor after years of tolerating somewhat clunky, antiquated animations.

Yeah I agree^ Stats definitely need a revamp, I was looking through the teams the other day to see who we're the best players in each team, on PES anyway. It seems defender generally get rated higher, for instance Everton's 3 best players are Baines Heitinga & Howard. Also, Tim Cahill was like 5th lowest rated which is absolutely crazy.

Arteta is the best player in Arsenal (87), rated above RVP, who has the same rating as Rosicky (86).

Few more very poor examples aswell I just can't remember them right now haha

Overalls mean nothing though as they're based on an accumulation of all other stats. Rosicky probably has better short/long passing stats and defence etc. RVP just needs to be high in stats which make him a prolific striker. Maybe there should be an overall based on position and stats relating to that position. I know they change slightly now but i have no idea why or how  i think its more just to show where they're better played rather than actually being affected by stats.

for me its important that they redo the online match making, similar to fifa.

the game matches you with your opponent in terms of skil points AND TEAMS!!!!

tired of running into barca, madrid, man city players 9/10 times. i stopped playing it online long time ago :(

so please konami. when I am seaching for a quick game it should match my points and team.

If im choosing Fc-Copenhagen, it should pick other opponents with similar team.

that means, we choose a team first THEN it search for opponents.

cheers

How can it match your team when we select team after the game has been set up ? But still its the wrong "fix" for the barca problem.

The problem is its so easy to win with barca, mainly cause of ridiculous ai at times, scripting, running on pre-determined rails and the unreal ball control. I know messi has insane ball control, but it aint done properly in pes. In pes its glued to the feet, even if you do turns at high speed. The ball should just feel more free and independent, a physics system for itself.

It needs to be more rewarded when you play smart, against a noob who is double pressing, through balling, and just dribble around like he got super glue on the feet.

The double pressure problem is simply fixed. First small freekicks that keeps coming and stops a good chance should give a yellow card as a minimum, so people cant keep doing it. Second konami should look at fifa and let the AI teammate pressing, be AI teammate contain. Its so much better in every way. That way we dont get freekicks we dont want. My teammate often commits fouls because i press, but i dont want them to tackle.

But all in all the game needs to feel free 100 percent. Every little input we do should be calculated in the game. Fx, passing is a horrible inconsisten thing. Sometimes its nice, but other times its so scripted to go wrong, i press a single light press for a short through ball and the ball gets hammered down to the goalkeeper.

I feel konami should eliminate pass support and let the input control everything. Even with zero pass assistance you cant do what you want. Direction and power, nothing more should count when creating passes. It would also make the abusers commit suicide so we all win :)

we can only hope the passing overhaul Adam mentioned will be realistic and well balanced.

agree mate - the way forward could be to have proper overall team stats - that not only mean something but you can tell various differences with.

Great Podcast and I'm patiently awaiting PES, after reading Adams post, hopefully the gamemode known as MLO is much better than the current PES12 version

I think I wrote a substantial post about team stats and how they should influence teams regardless of the players they have. As it is, team stats are simply overall values of all players in the team. I propose that every team has it's own stats which boost cadre stats on the pitch.

Example:

If your team has technique stat of say 8 out of 10 (this is an example value), all technique related stats (dribble accuracy, dribble speed, technique, first touch, even passing) of all players on the team should receive a certain value boost, an additional percentage to their existing stats.

This would allow fair stat distribution to players making lower team players able to play football. Better teams would simply have better team stats which would make their players slightly better.
