I think it's great that they have taken the user's comments online, are looking to improve the game overall in the major areas rather than just concetrating on one thing. This should benefit the game as a whole.
The going back to simulation roots persoanlly for me great as is the master league re-vamp.
Animations getting an overhaul is good to and hopefully a true next gen graphical update, overall very impressed with what has been promised.

-I like the enchancement of the tactical side of gameplaying. PES has always exceeded other titles in tactical aspect, and now it may go even further.
-New penalties - excellent. We have asked for it, and you deliver.
-UEFA cup license is spot on.
Need more information of:
-Online capabilities
-please tell us more about "moving several players at once" and other new things in gameplaying

Delighted that the game is going back to a simulation feel. Changing the penalty system has pleased me.
I would like to know whether they are going to implement both Champs league and Europa into the master league.
Overall brilliant news, but just remember to get rid of the basketball shorts and have the shorts more like the ps2 version.
Many thanks to konami

I've said a fair amount in the other thread, but the basis of my feedback with direct regards to the press release would be: Promising but need proof.
The release says pretty much everything we have been wanting to hear.
Increasing the staff and creating dedicated teams for certain aspects of the game is a big step forward, as Seabass has previously commented that the nextgen development for them is/was difficult as the team structure and development process did not fit the needs of next gen development.
The comment regarding a focus on Simulation is also well received by me, but as commented in the other thread, I think they need to make sure they keep the 'fun' aspect of the game too - it should not become impossible to dribble past people without doing some mad trick.
Improvement in the keepers and the refs are also badly needed and hopefully they stick to their promise on this (and give the keepers goal keeper gloves as opposed to gardening gloves...must have been the reason for poor handling in previous versions!
I could go on, but everything we wanted to hear is there - improved AI and game play, dedicated team for online etc - it is a very promising press release.
However, after the promises made previously (09 was a major graphical overhaul after all....) people are going to be very skeptical as to whether Konami will actually deliver on the promises they have made this time round either. With the game 7 months away, I obviously do not expect gameplay videos, but for Konami to get the fans back onside, they need to give us more information at short intervals. I think they really need to release a proper screen shot, a shot that truly represents what the players will look like during matches as we play - so no touched up 'target renders' like Adrianho and Terry. Maybe some animation tech videos too, to show us how the players will look moving - if they have the game engine done enough to be saying how great it is, they should be able to provide some proof without having to give us a full match trailer.
With so much staff in play now too - I think Konami should look to blogging the development process, or twitter it maybe - some platform for the dev's of the game to interact with the fanbase and provide little snipits of info as they can.
Another issue would be to get the community more involved - they should be looking to sites like PESfan and WENB, regularly inviting them to look at the dev process and the how the game is coming along, but not make them sign NDA's, or at least less restrictive NDA's; if there is something they legally can't comment on (such as the CL last time round) then fine, NDA it, but allow the community representatives to see the game and the development, and allow them to comment on it as soon as they want to.
In conclusion. the release is promising, as promising as we could have hoped for - but it is a Press Release, it is the goal of a press release to make the product seem great, we need more tangible proof to really start to get behind Konami again.

I can't help than repeat this, for lack of info aboutand i feel that everything seems to let thinking this is the return of the king.
The fact about individual skills means the most part of players not so good won't make it at all, or trying it, it comes bad and lose the ball? It woulld be real and interesting to have pes6 way for everyone with different result.
Another good thing is to have a new method to take FK, CK, GK, for example as the cousins made in iss3 with swingometer which is everything than an arcade method. I really think is arcade to modify spin after the taking.
Please make ML real with UL and CL included.
I would abandon the idea to give a promotion with leagues. Is really more interesting to have this feature with playoff and playout in ML.
Full edit mode also would be cool to customize everything if possibile.
Please insert tricks from FIFA which are very very cool.
Thank you!

I believe the press release was awesome, it delivered on the aspects which the fans want to hear about, for me personally graphical revamp, gameplay, animations and enhanced master league.
I am playing fifa now and I thought I would be playing it for years to come however this has made me excited and if these aspects are delivered you will win me back and I am sure many others.
This is what I wanted to hear, not just focusing on some aspects of the game you want to improve the whole game and I believe this will make it the first truly next gen pes.
thanks for reading our feedback

I for one am Absolutely delighted and excited by what I have read from the press release this morning! Overhauled Graphics is something that was dearly needed and for that to happen is fantastic! From the sounds of things the gameplay and animation improvements (another thing I asked for in my podcast with Suff and Adam) is also a great thing!

Wow, this really took me by surprise. I know Suff and Adam said news were gonna come early this year but I expected it to be next month. If we will really get what it says in the press release it might actually not only the best PES in the series, but also the best footy game. I switched to Fifa09 this year because PES2009 got too boring to me, especially because of the dusty master league mode. As I don't play online the master league mode is the most important for me!
Also I'm very pleased to see how Konami finally listens to the community. I think its the only way to make this game the way it should be. As I understood from riots insight it also seems to be a big step for Konami as a japanese company. So I'm pretty impressed by this, too.
So Konami, if you can really pull off all these things and give me the Bundesliga back (at least with fake names!), I will be the first to buy the game

!!!
Thank you WENB, you saved my day! I hope you guys will get into the next podcast as soon as possilbe!

From what i see in the press release, it looks like its going in the right direction. Things that needed to be improved seem like they are going to be including the graphics engine, gameplay, movement, improved modes etc. Its all sounding very nice indeed and i thank Konami for actually listening to the fans of the series.
The simulation side of things is a massive plus for me as thats how it should be. Arcade isnt the way forward for this series in my opinion. All in all the things that i wanted improved seem to be the things that are getting the treatment they deserve and im glad of that.
Also its great news that the Europa League is added but it needs to try to be added to the Master League if this is possible as on its own, it will be like the Champions League mode last year as that didnt have a great deal of replay value and to me, that seems a waste.
Cheers.

Arcade should be left to Virtua Striker.... what ever happened to that series?
No I totally agree with Gari, spot on and it is all sounding very very promising! I would like to take this opportunity to thank Voltage PR for supplying WENB with this info!

Very positive press release. Plenty of detail and its awesome that Konami are recognising the community. It really sounds like they have really taken on board alot of user input.
"We aim to make PES 2010 a more user-friendly, immediate experience that places the emphasis on getting straight into the gameplay for which the series is famed."The above quote is key for me. As mentioned in yesterday's podcast, gameplay is the key ingredient. The best aspects in terms of features:
* Improved goalkeepers
* Improved grass
* New dribbling animations
* More crowd atmosphere
* Managerial aspect of Master League
* Removal of soft goals
* New set piece options for free kicks and penaltys
* More in-depth tactics/formations
* Player attributes/abilities having greater effect on how team plays
* More licences is always good
* Improved online is great but I rank gameplay as being alot more important
Overall I feel alot more positive about the game which means Konami have done a good job with this press release.

Please have CL and UC in ML!
Also the shorts need to be shorts.

How about being able to change your Shorts before the match? For example if your away shorts are black and your home shorts are white you should be allowed to use your home ones if your away ones clash with the oppositions shorts.... you see this happen in the Premiership all the time. Minor feature this one

I would also love the old style goals to come back as i think the new style ones dont look as great but i cant see it happening now. Its only a minor detail but something ive always said as to me the newer style goals/nets just look far too big.

it's always a good day when we get info on the next pes however bad it turns out to be in the end there's always that excitement.
I'm however staying sceptical on this one mainly because it's just blurb, standard press release - bullet point - embellish - rinse - repeat, they're never going to say we're serving up same/worse as last year or we're making marginal tweaks to the same engine?
is that engine still up to it? has it been changed? there's a lot of improved, reworked, revamped thrown in there to suggest they've just tweaked the same engine which I cannot really see being up to much, it's hard to anticipate a dramatic change in the visuals or animations without any mention of the engine - sorry.
also it's funny I was on the "pesunites" site a few days ago and according to the blurb pes09 should have trumped the second coming, it reads like they know what we want to hear ...which is always worrying.
thankfully you guys on here will not to long from now hopefully have a hands on leipzig shindig - print this release and put a check box on everything - let us know how the end product stacks up to the promises and crucially let us know honestly if it makes up for 09 and whether we should bother
we also need a proper hard hitting Q&A to know if cheevos have been brought into the 21st century, if auto red card/penalty fouls have been rectified, if standing still for 5 seconds after a FK is sorted. a proper Q&A not just blurb thank you - you don't get to gloss over 09 with a press release that easy.
Last thing is where they get their "community feedback" when they do not appear to have a proper community focus? it sounds like at best anonymous observation on feedback threads in forums etc, they are just too anonymous in the community arena for my liking, I would really like them to be more open - epic open even [case in pointmark rein, cliffy and other devs on the gears of war forums or the modern warfare 2 twitter]

Yes lets not forget the fatigue system, I heard Brad Friedel hadn't missed a match for 3 years or something. Such fatigue must be represented in the league and master league system. Obviously older players like Paul Scholes should not be able to play every game in a season but someone like Frank Lampard should

Well Konami are certainly making all the right noises, cant wait for more info on the Master League enhancements.
Looks like its going to be an exciting summer for Pes fans.
Cant wait to hear your reactions to the release, any chance of another Podcast this week.
Get Doc in as well, I`d like to hear his thoughts on the news.
