Members have the right to state how they feel. But i wont make my full opinion until i play the finished game.

I just want keepers to stop spilling the ball to they attackers.

Played a minimum of 5 matches per day since the demo was released (7 days a week), and I can say with all honesty the keeper has not spilled one shot in the path of a striker either the CPU or me.

Some of this stuff I really don't know where these complaints are coming from. I'm absolutely hammering the demo and trying to stretch the game, but some of this stuff is too picky.

Word from Gamescom is the shooting has been compromised (putting it mildly), and whilst I won't get my pants in a twist I knew this was going to happen. I called it a few weeks back. Really do wonder what the point is sometimes.

I was thinking the exact same thing when i read that post earlier. I've played the demo probably everyday and i've never seen a keeper spill a shot into an opposing players path. I hope shooting hasn't been compromised but will have to wait til demo 2 and experience a more recent code myself.

Hopefully it's a case of PES5 where shooting was atrocious at first but became brilliant later on. But if recent history is any indication I doubt it.

it will come soon enough - until then I'm enjoying what I'm seeing in demo1

I have been missing from the boards for a few months due to work, but will try to get back on track now.

I've hammered the demo myself the last days and here are my thoughts:
This is the game I have been waiting for all this time, the true successor of PES5, finally, or at least, it has the chance to be the one, if KONAMI don't screw something major in the path to release.
Shooting is great, animations are finally on a high level and there are just a few that feel wrong, but are in the minority to such a degree, that they don't matter anymore. Control is tight, the game is super fluid, the graphics aren't blurred and the colors - more vibrant, the negative being slightly less quality faces or is it just me.
The new pass, with R2 and Cross, is what I needed to get the ball to the tall strikers head from any position with players like Pirlo, who is finally useful in the game to the same level as in real life. The Deft Touch Dribbling is superb, gives tons of new options and tricky moves, here is my Riquelme representation, great addition. Standing tackle is almost of the perfect balance of risk/reward and it's my new defensive method in critical situations. Off the ball controls are not so effective during set-pieces as in PES2012, which is a good thing. There is a sense of physicality to defenders now, but could go a notch higher. The teammates AI is better and I tried many tactical options, most of them work as they should, CB overlap being my favorite. Let's not forget Player ID, also a big positive, but should have a bigger scope of players added than 50 and yes, I could name more than this amount that are unique.

Here comes the bad side of the demo impressions, sadly there still is one.
The game is a bit too easy to control and score goals on superstar, haven't tried the other difficulties, but they don't matter anyway. Shooting now is a bit too good, didn't imagine saying that, but actually would like it to remain that way, rather than being out of control (so Gamescom news are worrying). The CPU still doesn't keep enough possession and doesn't make many attempts to take the ball. From this, less fouls from the CPU and almost to no cards or penalties in the player's favor, now that we finally get booked on regular basis for tackles, the CPU must get into the action too.
Assisted passing is way too accurate, I am playing at 1 bar, but many won't do the same thing, it's a bit imbalanced at the moment. Sliding tackle is worse than before, it doesn't accounts where the ball is, while the standing tackle does. It charges past the ball and into the opponents legs most of the time, it's not reliable on purpose, but this could be toned down. Selecting the right player you are pointing with the stick for a pass is still a bit tricky, this is the one control that must be improved.

I didn't mention anything about keepers, as I would like to wait on this one. Didn't include everything, but it's getting long, first impressions only, so that's my two cents.

Ive played the demo alot recently and have noticed far too much scripting with the ai still.

You score and they score straight away. Seems to happen 9 times out of ten. Deflections are still scripted.

Keepers are still wack. They just thumble the ball out to the attacker still, and are very static to alot of shots.

people need to relax and wait for demo 2 to say something about the game and even with demo 2 we cannot judge the final game until we played the final version and common people we have this year the best pes of the entire generations just love it and enjoy the game :D

i think the current challenge with things is this:

the more control they give the gamer, the more challenging it is to properly create an AI that can match that. Which completely makes sense. I personally think that the DEMO 1 does a really good job of making a good match on superstar, but yeah, if you're a quality player you can keep about 60-70% game possession (mind you these games are short) and often win/draw games over losing them.

But again, this is a demo with either amazing teams in Match Mode or very decent teams in the COPA, all the teams are pretty even for the most part.

So I have some frustrations with people complaining about the AI cause I think sometimes instead of just focusing on the AI, which may be too difficult with the tech they have, Konami resorts to scripting and hindering your controls. I personally felt this was the biggest issue from pre release PES 2012 to full release PES 2012. It underwent a lot of balancing but it was always the issue of taking control away from the player to compensate. For example defending was hit or miss so that the AI could dribble through you when needed.

Now in PES 2013 the DEMO 1 to me isn't perfect, of course it wouldn't be, but it's so fun and open and great. The control you get is really impressive to me, and yes, I can maybe get the best of the CPU AI on SUPERSTAR. But, it still is a competitive game and if I use a weaker team against the bigger most talented CPU AI teams I bet it's not so easy.

Hopefully Konami just take the time to keep the user with all these weapons and control but make that CPU AI just stronger and more human like and not result to scripting or pulling back the reins on the Player's freedom of control.

So yeah, in the end I think people have to be clearer as to what has to be improved and the price you can pay for trying to correct things. To me, Konami nailed the control you have in the DEMO 1 to be great, now they just need to work hard on making the CPU AI more human like and unique (which I think they are).

I'd rather win 8 out of 10 games on superstar and be pretty awesome but have some solid battles and feel in total control then lose 6 out of 10 games because I felt like I was being cheated. I think that's something we all have to seriously keep in mind.

It will be interesting if in the next next gen of gaming the new tech doesn't just offer up sharper and better graphics but more ability to make the CPU AI compete like humans, because while FIFA can push for man vs. man and online gaming, I'm always going to love the thrill of playing master league and cups vs. the CPU AI, and trying to replicate these players and these teams to feel like the real thing is pretty excited.

I agree with ShadyKnight here. Having played ~100 games on the demo now this isn't something that I've noticed happening more than infrequently.

i'm the same, i've played this demo alot, and i've never really seen the keeper spill a ball to an attacker.

The one issue i have with keepers is when you have a shot that goes over them, instead of doing a high dive with one arm in the air, they seem to do a wierd two handed side ways dive thing.

Havent really noticed the keepers spilling balls out to attacker, what I have noticed, and this was a major problem in PES12, is that GK's in general do not know how to deal with balls that come down under the crossbar.
The CPU will hoof a ball up in the air, it will come down high, just under the cross bar with the GK on the line, no chance of being lobbed and he just doesnt know how to react, 99% of GK's would just catch the ball, in PES every GK punches or pushes it over the cross bar, giving away needless corners.
Same with headers back to your GK, if it goes above his head he just flaps at it and gives away possession.

It appears as if there is only one animation for GK's in this area - push over the bar. As a result this fires every single occurrance which is unrealistic and annoying.

Also on keepers.is it just me or are keepers glued to the goal line when you are one on one or the ball is played into the box just ahead of the striker.

They are only glued to the goal line when playing on low difficulty levels ( especially beginner), but I assume you are playing professional or higher.
The keepers act quite realistic to 1v1 in my opinion. If you do not have a defender chasing you close by, the keepers will come out a lot earlier. With a defender near you they will stay closer to the goal line and just position thimselves.
Only lob goals are a bit too easy when 1v1.

i said weeks back i that for the first year since i can remember i can't get excited about pes being released. We've been promised and promised for years now that the game would be sorted. Online has been a joke with cheats and bugs. The game feels like it's all about ronaldo not a team game. Each year we have a promising demo only for it to be changed for the worse come release date. last year konami went big on fair play only to give us a game and online system that suits cheaters and a release date that leaves us in the uk far behind those in europe. I want to hear how they have fixed these problems and more. I want know if fair play this year means fair play before I consider buying it this year never mind pre ordering it. I stopped playing pes months ago unless its 1v1 offline becuase the flaws cause more stress than anything. So for me to get on the hype train is not happening. Gamescom, why did konami even show up? Not exactly been an avalanche of news to win back fans.
