Nice. Those look like a lot of fun, and actually a lot better than what I first thought. There's also more than I thought there'd be too and look like they've some depth. This is the kind of fun stuff that should never have been removed from games. Even ISS on the SNES had something like this in it. I don't understand why devs pull the good stuff out of games and strip them bare.
Lots of young fellas running around in shorts: that's the kind of thing you like looking at...

Don't buy the S*n!

OMG! The guy on twitter is now playing Fifa 13 CM mode and has tweeted that we get to play CL in the first season! He hasn't said whether its licensed but it could be as a year or two ago they mentioned we couldn't play it in the first season season because of licensing, balls to it, licensed or not we have Europe in the first season

He pretty much confirms they're not licensed with this tweet afterwards:

"No play-off games for season 1, straight to groupstage. Both Champions' Cup and Euro League. Good enough. #FIFA13"

But either way, it's good news. Can't wait to get my hands on the full game!

Yes, it works like this. Before starting CM, you can set first season European competitions. You can manually set all teams in their respective groups or you can press square (PS3) or X (Xbox 360) to randomize. Then the CPU randomized the teams, but there were way to many bad teams. It was really randomized from all (European) teams in the game. But then I saw something on screen: 'Press [] again for realistic randomize', then I got almost (not 100%) identical groups from last seasons Champions League. And then you can still edit the teams.

Well. Now you know the last bit that we weren't allowed to talk about.

Nic, the realistic randomise is a way around certain licensing issues. It's pretty much spot on.

There's another way around getting the right atmosphere for CL matches is to change the adboards to a blue colour and get different sponsors by going to companies directly e.g sony etc. And having one set scoreboard for CL matches. Lots of ways around things lol Btw Tom why couldn't you tell us? Did they have trouble with it or where they waiting for confirmation on whether they could actually put it in the game lol just curious mate

It would be ace if we could have custom music to cup matches. The CL hymn is everything.

Cool, we are going to have realistic fixtures... now they just have to fix the gameplay.
FIFA 12 looks like a ping-pong with goals, defending is a joke I just see a bunch of guys running and stumbling, shooting has no logic, sometimes the ball flies over the stadium sometimes it just goes towards keeper hands.
The only good things we have now is graphics/audio, licenses, and the most important: the control over the player. The rest isn't even close to football.

While FIFA 13 gameplay is a pretty big step-up from FIFA 12 gameplay, it still very much a FIFA game. Don't get your hopes up getting a totally new football experience. It isn't.

Hey Guys,
can anyone who played FIFA13 confirm that not every team plays like barca? that was the weakest point in FIFA12 especially in CM. I think the AI behavior in FIFA12 is nearly the same for every team. Thanks in advance...

I mentioned gameplay in a generalized form, but I'm wrong.
There are two main points that annoy me: the ''barça style" of every team and the defensive system. Shots aren't great but I can deal with it, they're just OK.
Fixing those two issues and we have a great game, rly fun to play.

I might be biased but after spending hours on pes 2013 demo, it is quite hard to see my self spending more time in FIFA 12 (and pes 2012 too).. One of my main gripes is that, this inertia & momentum people talking about are lacking, controlling, dribbling with player does not feel good.. not to mention the ball physic when it sometimes bobbles from long ball.. as if on floor.
25 July demo so far :
1. CPU ai attacking/defensive play and balance --> almost there, need more passing around
2. Cpu crazy-dribbling and crazy one-twos then direct shot exist --> nope
3. Overall graphic colour and night match lighting --> fine, except horrible night match

Does anybody knows why on xbox360 we couldn't get all the commentaries ?? The EA team provided all commentaries on FIFA 10 by downloading them. But not on FIFA 11 and FIFA 12.
Being a french player I only get the English, Dutch and French ones. I'd like to play the spanish league with spanish commentators !
