I bought the iphone version of fifa 12, and believe it or not, but the "long ball" animations are much better looking in the iphone version than the current gen. I don't mean the animation when you crossing the ball in from the wing, but the one when you make long balls.

Like this one. I miss this kind of long balls in fifa and pes.

When trying to do this kind of passes in current gen fifa, it lookes more like a shot animation. Doesnt feel good.

Inertia and lower the accuracy of tricks and tricky shots like rabonas. That's exactly what I want to see in euro 2012 or fifa 13. But as it looks now, we'll get even more tricks and unnecessary showboating in the game. Been watching those montages now, and my god how bad the game looks. Nice goals is not "nice goals" in fifa anymore. It looks like exploits. I mean, players have perfect ball control, and they can move and change directions like... I don't know... Ea, please, you have a good game, but it could be so much better. Proper footplanting, heavier players, remove the glue/force field to the ball, and this game could be something. And do something about the daaamn lobbed trough balls and defensive AI. It's been there since I started playing fifa in next gen. And it was fifa 09. So, time to do something, huh?

MGMT are 100 percent correct.

Ball control is insane, and it goes for all players. Even the lowest rated players have the ball glued to their feet, and its a core gameplay error.

Everything needs to feel alive and organic, **** if the kids and abusers will cry that its gotten to hard.

The new defending is great, but when you have to defend against a player who can do 180's in half a second with 100 percent precision all the time its hard to do anything but contain, There are some major flaws that i cant write cause i cant express myself so good on english, but ea needs to listen to the mature part of their fanbase.

Yep. Now they're listening to the "I want to do all the tricks in the world and score sick goals all the time"-fanbase. The "hjerpseth"-fanbase. He even WORKS with EA now. Not good at all. They're wasting great tech, and it hurts. Isnt fifa street enough? I guess that's what fifa street is for. For rainbow flicks and other meaningless stuff, buy fifa street. For real football, buy the original fifa series. That's how it should be. But enough for today. Merry Christmas footyfans!

agree mate - the thing is Messi is the new cover star - and no doubt he'll be the best player in the game, you could imagine what using Messi in fifa13 is gonna be like.

Not a big fan of the graphics to be honest and havent been since FIFA 07. Im pretty sure that EA are capable of making the game look a LOT better even with 360 and PS3 getting on as they are.

Like the Cry Engine but surely only a super powerful gaming PC would be able to run it looking decent like that?

Perhaps EA are waiting for the next Gen
"ripping" up their old tech once worked wonders for them coming onto this gen - i wouldnt be surprised if the big shift in graphics wont be saved for the next generation
I love how EA gets all its studios to share tech Fifateam/Dice/Danger close/Cryengine etc its a smart move
Lets talk PES

it is a smart move by EA, companies who think smart and think outside the box will last, and prosper.

Ea have been around for years so they're not going anywhere. I looked at the cryengine 3 image looks ok but for some reason i don't it happening i hope im wrong. I do remeber someone from Crytek saying multiple titles are coming out for this year and the future using the cryengine3 so who knows

I dont think the cryengine3 is a great fit for Football , the strengths of it are in detail and creating worlds (at least thats my own viewpoint) Also the look of it wouldnt excite me for a sports game
They just need to evolve what they are already using - they have proven they can evolve the physics side of things - whats to stop them from improving the graphical side aswell

Fifa looks great - it just needs to get a bit more of a photo realistic "style" to its players and a bit more work on getting various player model shapes - the engine they currently have already does everything else
By all accounts they are agreesively looking at A.I this year (if the job vacancys are anything to go by)
So graphics is the last thing to look at on a tech level?

All of the above is my opinion mind - i accept you guys could feel completly different about it

They will need to do a Konami and develop a new Engine which includes the Graphics as well.

The Collision Engine this year IMO is pretty bad. You see far too many Glitched Collisions during a match. I had a player who literally got stuck to a CPU Opponent and everytime he got back to his feet again he tripped straight back up again and continued..... he was the player I was trying to play a neat Through Ball to so as you can guess I was pretty annoyed with the game at that point.

I suppose EA have balanced out with Graphics vs Gameplay. Last thing we want is another situation where games have better Graphics but inferior gameplay like PES has had for so many years IMO.

On a side note, not having a go or anything as I respect content creators but the FIFA Soccer Blog Podcasts are terrible. Audio quality is really bad and to be honest the whole thing sounds cheesy right after their Intro plays and so on.

Hilarious!

There is even one where the two players look like they are kissing like some kind of "Man Love Rules" Campaign in FIFA..... NOOOOO!

Ive read alot of rumour of various sites that PS4 and the next Xbox are being uncovered at games shows this summer , with this in mind i think EA and Konami are either going to "beaver" away in the background on their new engines for the next gen , or get some tech that is scalable between hardware and give us an early glimpse of things to come on newer platforms

Either way it seems unlikely they will be spending alot of money on tech that will only work with this gens machines

I don't think this stuff is hilarious. They're promoting their game with "the new impact engine that takes the game to a new level"... Level of what? It's super broken, and it looks shit. I'd prefer the fifa 11 colission engine. This is just a joke. Stupid things happens all the time. And the quick throw ins works like 30% of the times... The players are running to the ball, touching it, but then walks away from it... And this game gets 10/10 and stuff.... Awkward, isnt it? It looks like it's a 50 % finished code or something. I have the right to bash it. It doesnt work.

If pes had quick throw ins like fifa. It would have worked without problems. If not, they would have patched it as soons as possible. This throw in and impact engine problem is showing how much EA do really care.
