Great podcast Chris, very weird feeling hearing my own voice on an FSB Poddy. And normally i lsten with baited breath to hear the latest news and opinions so it was weird knowing everything being mentioned. I thought you summed up the days thoughts perfectly. You are very natural at this sort of thing. What kind of discussions have you had with Suff regarding your playtest?

And i take it there will be a mammoth poddy this weekend what with all the latest news from Germany. I dont have a mic/headphones mate to help you out and tbh i dont know if id be any good but id really try and get Tim7 on as he really does seem to know his stuff and i think he would be a good sidekick for you. Or/and what about Suff himself. Tell him to pay a bit of attention to Fifa instead of Pro for once (joke).

Have you had any discussions with EA about any niggles etc you had with the play test?

He was happy to hear how the game has come along and he's dying to get his hands on the game again! He said it sounds like it really has advanced from when he played it last.

Look out for a podcast on Sunday, hopefully featuring Tim7.

Bits and bobs - I've passed a few things onto Matt (the guy from the event), hopefully they will get looked at. It's more graphical things than anything to be honest, for example Cech has the wrong letter/number colours in the new screenshots and Man City's kit is neon blue instead of sky blue... Little things but they all make a big difference.

I don't believe it!!! My manager mode which i have spent hours on is broken

I play the FA cup round 3 against Scunthorpe and then after the game when it does the simulating percent thing it always freezes at 54% i've tried three time and its done the same thing. Stupidly I only had the one save so I think ive lost it all

If anyone knows anyway to fix it please tell me.

  :(

I hate to tell you but if you've only got one save then that's it.

I always make a save at the start of each season so that if it does go wrong after a few games I can go back to the start of the season and carry on from there.

Sorry bud. :(

Not very kept secret i must say. I have just read your sigh of relief post over on the EA forums. Got to admit im a bit suprised by it. I still cant believe EA have done this. All the feedback that they must have had about online exploits etc in fifa09 and they still do it. 1 or 50 point increases, matters not, its a horrific idea and im well pissed off. It stinks of money grabbing no matter how much PR spin they put on it.
Looking forward to downloading poddy then listening to it in bed as im at work at 6 so should already be in the land of nod. This game is slowly killing me i think :)

Chris is correct in the podcast. People didn't try any of the new things put in there. I noticed the new passing and running animations though. I saw ONE GUY do a late pass with Juve and he passed it with his toe before the defender nipped in. So awesome.

The ball physics look great in the new vid i just saw. BTW, when you guys mentioned the dip on the shot, does that mean you can apply top spin to dip it more in the air?

I don't think you can purposely apply the top spin to create the dip / swerve. It's just a case of the player will strike the ball so well, and depending on how far away he is from the ball, how high the ball is etc. A number of factors come into it, but it's realistic and the shot outcome will be whatever would happen in real life. That dipping shot mj scored, was slightly ahead of his player if I remember correctly so he was almost stretching for it, not miles ahead, just maybe half a foot ahead of normal striking zone, so therefore the foot would swing though more and connect with the middle to top of the ball, thus giving it major forward momentum, which is top spin.

Nice podcast Chris, props to Tim7. Another good one. Just listened to the Podcast, I have to agree with you about the videos from the Gamescom floor they are quite underwhelming in terms of the people playing. The game looks great and I must say i'm very pleased with what I've seen so far. I think the people there are either trying to approach the game like FIFA 09 or thay are just not that good. Add to that the fact that it seems to be jam packed around the FIFA stand you probably don't get a lot of game time. At the moment, I'm guessing that EA are preparing a game manual/instructions to go with the game. It might of been an idea for them to take some of these pages detailing the skilled dribbling and other new things and post a pdf on their site or have a small handout for the people there. At least some of the better players would be trying it. Maybe they could put something up just before the demo, hopefully the demo will have enough detail on they various new things.

As for Virtual Pro, I couldn't have asked for more. This is another step towards full 10 v 10 or 11 v 11 online. The fact that it can be you instead of professional player just takes it to another level :D. I'm still on the fence about the store boost issue :| . While I don't agree with it in principle, I would still like to here more details on how the purchased boosts will affect their Virtual Pro. I know Mike Takla has made various posts over on the official site but I would still like more in depth details. EA seemed to have adapted a drip feed approach to giving us information so I guess I'll just have to be patient. Maybe next week when Gamescom is over and the marketing guys get switched on we'll hear more.

Anyway, keep up the good work, loving the podcasts. :)

Oh well my own fault for not saving two versions. I googled it and it's extremly commen though hopefully this problem/glitch will be sorted out for Fifa 10 but i doubt it as apparently its been in fifa since 06. However this is the first time for me but then again it's only really been fifa 09 which i have played alot as i always used to play pes so can't comfirm that that is true.

Anyways good podcast, I think the time we will find out whether fifa 10 will be a good game or an amazing game will be when we see a video of an amazing person playing (or at least one that knows and tries all the new features) then i think we will be able to truely judge.
