2) Not from what I found.

So then do you actually need to use your midfield this time around?

Yes you do, because one thing they've done is eradicate the effectiveness of lobbed through ball. Thats down to them dropping many yards of pace off the like of Torres, Ronaldo etc etc

Saying that, of you're ahead of the defender its still hard to tackle back at players of that calibre, so if you get clear with Eto'o, Torres etc you'll be able to stay ahead on strength.

I interpreted it as 'David Rutter says yes, so my opinion doesn't really matter'. Guess I was wrong. It's hard to read between the lines as English isn't my mother tongue! ;)

haha i know what you mean, this answer did sound a little funny. I like how adam seems a lot more honest about the builds he has played and suff just says its still an early stage.

Im really upset though that Adam said that players like Pirlo and Fabregas (technical midfielders) are not effective and thats a real issue i had with FIFA 09, i really thought this would be fixed in FIFA 10 because of all the slow downs and what not.

Very disappointing if that's the case. Pro have had this nailed down for years and it would be a very big shame if Fifa cannot address this. Players like Riquelme, Xavi, Fabregas have little influence on Fifa 09 and cannot really set the tempo in games at all.

It makes me wonder what Fifa used to do with a player like Zidane, who hardly used to run at all but we all knew what he could do with the ball. In the PES games on PS2 Zidane could have a massive influence with his close control, passing and shooting.

Having said that the rest of the game sounds promising but it's hard to really tell without seeing more game footage and playing it myself.

@Adam thanks for answering my questions, doesn't matter i PES is your game, was mine too until 2008

I seriously think many people take what I say out of context sometimes, the negativity is emphasized more than the good points.

For e.g., when I said FIFA 10 reminded me of FIFA 08 rather than FIFA 09, me and Suff actually meant pace and response times. After Rutter saying the response times have been slowed, I really thought people would be happy, as it eradicates ping pong arcady passing.

All I will say is that if FIFA 09 was fluid football with an arcade tendency, then FIFA 10 is slow and considered with simulation at its heart (apart from player representation).

I was happy with that Adam but i was really worried when you sort of became really honest and you stressed the issue that has plagued the FIFA series since Road to the worldcup '98 that every player feels the same and that good passers and playmakers such as Fabregas are not rewarded, which sort of contradicts your earlier comments about the gameplay slowing down, because that should in essence reward playmakers and great passers. I really hope im wrong here though.

Also suff i dont have twitter, can i just ask here? or can we open a new thread "Ask Suff Stuff ... About FIFA 10"

I don't think I contradict what I'm trying to say.

I think this generation its clear that FIFA wont look into the micro-analyzing of player attributed further than pace and power. If you want that then you'll have to play PES. I think if EA tried to incorporate that, then they could ruin the hard work they've done getting the simulation feel.

I got question about goal celebrations.

Will we seen new goal celebrations like the ones in UT (DLC) or are we going to get the same one we got in FIFA 09.

Thanks

Some questions id like answers to, abeit from Suff, Adam or Mr D Rutter himself. (some apply to Mr Rutter only)

1) Is Assited controls still in the game? If so, is it something you may consider removing from further editions of the game?

2) When using Manual controls, an annoyance of mine was how long it takes for the power bar to build up before hitting a long pass. Has this been tweaked?

3) Sheilding wasnt very effective in Fifa09 as often you would just get knocked off the ball. Has this been improved?

4) You mentioned a new crowd but wasnt sure if it will be icluded in Fifa10. Whats the latest on that?

5) Is dualshock vibration supported in Fifa10? Would be cool if you felt feedback from say hitting the woodwork

6) Can the players names now be displayed above their heads instead of the cursor?

7) Has the menu system been 'tidied' up or simplified?

8) Is there still the option of selecting game speed?

9) At times, especially late on in the game if you are defending a 1 nil lead or are chasing the game, the AI controlled players can become almost impossible to tackle. Even with low rated players they turn in to Messi on steroids. Its very scripted and really crap. Has this been fixed?

10) Has the penalty taking system been changed at all?

11) How much does the weather effects affect the ball physics.? Does snow have a different feel to rain?

Hope you guys can shed some light, cheers!

1.) Yes, and will stay in the game for the future.

4.) Will be in FIFA10.

5.) Was already implemented in FIFA 09, so yes, in FIFA 10 also.

6.) No.

7.) Same structure, look is 80% the same.

8.) Yes. Slow, normal and fast.

11.) Dry has a different feel to rain. Don't know about snow though.

Mmmm hopefully thats the only thing they work on for FIFA 11 and they nail it.

I also have a question for you Adam, do you think either FIFA 10 or PES 2010 will replace winning eleven 10 for you? or are you going to have to wait till FIFA 11 and PES 2011
