Thanks FSB for the great Podcast today. Had a real good listen. What suprises me is Adams point of view on Fifa10. Now we all know he is a PES Fanboy

but i thought he put some very good points across and gave in general a positive review of the game. I think the Pro Vs Fifa debate will always be there but for this year i think there will be 2 very good games and each will have things in it that the other doesnt have. Let Pro be Pro and Fifa be Fifa and lets all live happy ever after.
The animations sound amazing and from the Rutter interview you can see, even from that tiny clip, new animations in flow. Like the defender getting out of the way of the pass intended to the RB. In 09 that would have cannoned of the leg into the path of Ronaldo and would have cheap goal written all over it. But both Adam and Suff say its the best animation ever in a footie game, period. Wow!
Also in that clip the players do look noticeably smaller in comparison to the pitch which should free up a bit more space, especially in midfield.
What Adam said about player individuality still not being that evident worries me. I thought EA would have worked on this a bit more. But maybe with the slower game speed this will become more evident. It is something that Pro does well.
The lads talk about it being more simulation than 09 and that mistakes will get punished a lot more. Stray passes etc. This is music to my ears. You hear so many people on this and other forums go on about how they want a true life-like footie game and then stick it on assisted. If i was on the production team i would get rid of assisted full stop. I doubt it will ever happen but it should. Misplaced passes, bad touches, late tackles etc etc all makes football the game it is and the game we love. That midfield scrap between 2 hard midfield generals, The little willow the wisp who teases the defender into making the tackle only to be left for dead on his arse. Realism is key. If Fifa10 gets to anywhere near that level of realism, and its sounding good, then we will all be in for a treat. And the small minority who wont like it can go play something else or stick with 09.
The set piece editor sounds like something you could have some fun with. I noticed Suff had concerns about it being abused online and im assuming that the poddy was recorded before knowing that EA are not sure if the feature will be online. A tough one to call and im sure EA will make the right decision.
Regarding the shooting. I want to know if long range shooting has improved. Not too much was spoke about it only that its much better. Can you score from long range more frequently? Can you hit low hard shots from long range? The ball physics sound fantastic in general. Suff mentioning in his review of 'perfection'. Are the response times better than 09, yes/no? Unless i missed it i didnt hear a definate answer.
Graphics are not EA's main objective as we all know but they will need some improvement i think because Pro Evo2010 does look mighty impressive, and thats in an even earlier code. I expect that battle to be won by Konami this year. But Suff did say that Fifa looked sharper already and music to my ears is that finally the PS3 will look as good as the XBOX360. I never really liked the pitches in 09 so i hope they get reworked.
All in all a very positive view from Suff and Adam and all is sounding really good for Fifa10. I just wished October would hurry up and get here. Is it me or is this summer dragging. I have checked my work rota already and although i am workking on release day til 5:30pm i have saturday off so that means i will send the wife to bed early and have an all nighter. I cant wait. Thanks EA, keep up the outstanding work and thanks FSB for all the info, apologies again for this morning. I wake like a bear with a sore head
