I think the next one will be around July 15th, when the latest NDAs expire so that there's something exciting to talk about. There's not a lot to say until then...

What strikes me is that a lot of websites seems to have various opinions on FIFA's pace. You guys are saying it's faster than 08 but faster than 09, while other media are claiming it's a tiny bit faster than 09.

Even David Rutter doesn't know exactly. In the interview with FIFAInformer he said he came back to Vancouver after touring in Europe and said the ball was like a rocket and they had to slow it down immediately. There still tweaking apparently. So I'm not quite sure what to expect now.

It's being tweaked all the time - during the Vancouver event they were LITERALLY changing the ball physics every single day, and they've done that at various points since.

It's a slower game than it is now, according to Rutter. Speaking of Rutter, we have an exclusive interview with him coming later in the day and his very first answer is sure to cause controversy...

Look forward to hearing this. Thanks Chris.
I promise I wont be condescending in my posts.... I mean well guys :) Roll on PES 2011 and FIFA 11 :)
PES 2010 is my game of choice at the moment. FIFA 10 has been traded in and WC 2010 the AI simply isnt good enough.

Good podcast, it is disappointing for me to hear though that you can just still hold x and barge into players to get the ball. I hope they can change this tbh because it's annoying. Also I hope it's possible to beat a man without using skills.

Good to hear that they've sorted the floaty shooting though.

Thanks FSB for the great Podcast today. Had a real good listen. What suprises me is Adams point of view on Fifa10. Now we all know he is a PES Fanboy :P but i thought he put some very good points across and gave in general a positive review of the game. I think the Pro Vs Fifa debate will always be there but for this year i think there will be 2 very good games and each will have things in it that the other doesnt have. Let Pro be Pro and Fifa be Fifa and lets all live happy ever after.
The animations sound amazing and from the Rutter interview you can see, even from that tiny clip, new animations in flow. Like the defender getting out of the way of the pass intended to the RB. In 09 that would have cannoned of the leg into the path of Ronaldo and would have cheap goal written all over it. But both Adam and Suff say its the best animation ever in a footie game, period. Wow!
Also in that clip the players do look noticeably smaller in comparison to the pitch which should free up a bit more space, especially in midfield.
What Adam said about player individuality still not being that evident worries me. I thought EA would have worked on this a bit more. But maybe with the slower game speed this will become more evident. It is something that Pro does well.
The lads talk about it being more simulation than 09 and that mistakes will get punished a lot more. Stray passes etc. This is music to my ears. You hear so many people on this and other forums go on about how they want a true life-like footie game and then stick it on assisted. If i was on the production team i would get rid of assisted full stop. I doubt it will ever happen but it should. Misplaced passes, bad touches, late tackles etc etc all makes football the game it is and the game we love. That midfield scrap between 2 hard midfield generals, The little willow the wisp who teases the defender into making the tackle only to be left for dead on his arse. Realism is key. If Fifa10 gets to anywhere near that level of realism, and its sounding good, then we will all be in for a treat. And the small minority who wont like it can go play something else or stick with 09.
The set piece editor sounds like something you could have some fun with. I noticed Suff had concerns about it being abused online and im assuming that the poddy was recorded before knowing that EA are not sure if the feature will be online. A tough one to call and im sure EA will make the right decision.
Regarding the shooting. I want to know if long range shooting has improved. Not too much was spoke about it only that its much better. Can you score from long range more frequently? Can you hit low hard shots from long range? The ball physics sound fantastic in general. Suff mentioning in his review of 'perfection'. Are the response times better than 09, yes/no? Unless i missed it i didnt hear a definate answer.
Graphics are not EA's main objective as we all know but they will need some improvement i think because Pro Evo2010 does look mighty impressive, and thats in an even earlier code. I expect that battle to be won by Konami this year. But Suff did say that Fifa looked sharper already and music to my ears is that finally the PS3 will look as good as the XBOX360. I never really liked the pitches in 09 so i hope they get reworked.
All in all a very positive view from Suff and Adam and all is sounding really good for Fifa10. I just wished October would hurry up and get here. Is it me or is this summer dragging. I have checked my work rota already and although i am workking on release day til 5:30pm i have saturday off so that means i will send the wife to bed early and have an all nighter. I cant wait. Thanks EA, keep up the outstanding work and thanks FSB for all the info, apologies again for this morning. I wake like a bear with a sore head

Wildster, one or more of the points you've raised there may be revealed in our quick interview with David Rutter that's going up at midnight tonight UK time (just over two hours from when I'm making this post). Make sure you give it a listen. ;)

Great podcast lads. Top stuff.

The 360 dribbling situation has made me think after Adam's comments on the podcast. When it was first announced i was loving the sound of it being in Fifa 10 but after hearing what Adam said about it and a few others on various other websites, im gonna have to wait till i get the chance to play it at Gamescom before making my mind up i think.

I bet its the assisted controls debate. I just think it should be offline only as online should be about human vs human. Chris, im supposed to be driving a bus at 6am, if i stay up for the vid and end up crashing into a brick wall and killing 50 people can i blame you?

Can you guarantee that it will be up at midnight and there will be no technical delays? 8-)

First question, no you can't.

Second question, yes I can.

In that case Chris i think i will stay up, but if it doesnt come up at midnight then you will have to undergo a forfeit. You must spend October 2nd locked in a small room with just a commordore64 and Emlyn Hughes International Soccer to play whilst joyus oooo's and aaa's are fed into your room via speakers of the entire nation playing fifa10
