Next FIFA Suggestions/ideas

Postby Nanny » Sun Oct 25, 2009 6:37 am

Yeah i know most people have only just got the game but there are already a few small things id love that are missing.

Training mode:
- Instant replay
- Challenge training (like PES has)

Manager mode:
- Arrange your own friendlies like in FM

Some more major things id like to see are:

Player individuality:
- more dribbling styles, van persie and robben dribble just like gallas
- make players more distinctive from wide cam
- great passers of the ball are still not rewarded enough (but there is the issue of assisted and manual)

Other:
- After seeing how good PES 2010 looks, EA really need to boost the graphics
- i have issues with telling the depth on the field, some times i think the ball is going to land on the wing and it ends up landing in the middle of the pitch
- replays saved to hard drive (pretty sure we have already been promised this)
- more teams, stadiums and boots wouldnt hurt either. Greek and Italian leagues need to be fully licensed
- lounges that dont have a 10 person limit
- More user friendly menus

P.S asking for less bugs is a given so lets work around that one

TEAM PLAY.... to make up for the lack of literal individuality... each team must play different...

BETTER AI... if i want to play with bramble i'll chose wigan .... nuff said... This makes BAP in the current version sucha frustrating experience...

Also a formation and custom tactic slot for every team... also allow us to share our files online if not use them...

Also the goal keepers at times feel like super humans they make some crazy save... 1on1s arent really satisfying.. players like torres score 90% of them without using the chip or a fake shot...

And please overhaul the free kick system... make it more like PES make us work to get the ball to curve, swerve and dip... make them difficult to master but rewarding...

Along with everything mentioned by Nanny this should do for now...

This is one thing that NEEDS to be in the next fifa. We need goal celebrations like pes, skip the shitty fifa celebrations and make it realistic as pes, PLEASE! It feels so realistic in pes...

The match atmosphere needs to be better, like pes 5 and 6... It looks horrible now in fifa before matches, looks like it's 1999 or something... And WHAT happened with the player tunnel? What are you doin, EA? Don't get it....

SETTINGS:
I want daytime in winter and summer and so on, like in pes... And I want to choose between snow, rain, or normal (clear)

MANAGERMODE:
I want the managermode more realistic, like in premier league, when it's november and december, you're playin with a yellow ball... And late monday matches needs to be in night, and so on... Yeah, you know what I mean... Same with all leagues, almost every la liga match is played at night... Like I said, you know the drill... Make it more intelligent, it can't be that hard? Or am I wrong?... Gameplay wise it's okay, I think...

GRAPHICS:
Please, make the graphics like pes 2010, or even better!
Add my gamertag. I'll be available when fifa and pes hits.

We should be able to take our custom squads for international teams to ranked matches online with th exeption of created players of course, after all it really isn't cheating to put whoever you want as long as he is from that country. Argentine league anyone?... It's incredible how arguably the 3rd or 4th most competitive league in the world fails to make it in the game while the Korean league and others do, they have the Argentine tounament ball but not the teams, WTF.... There are also teams from Uruguay, Paraguay, and other South American leagues that deserve to be in the game more than most others. Common FIFA, if you dare to call this the people's game then forget a little about marketing and make a true people's game.

Also the croud should be a little more alive, when the home team scores in a derby match I wanna hear a loud roar coming from the croud I wanna feel the stadium crumbling down, I know the producers have watched 1 too many Real v Barças but common... Full blown create a team, we should be given the chance to create our own teams enough to create our own leagues an be able to take it atleast to unranked games online. Gameplaywise FIFA 10 is the best to date, not much to add, they should tweak it mildly and focus on stadium atmosphere and adding teams for 2011.

Ok here are a few more thoughts:

- Since most teams in Fifa 10 have high pressure and aggression in their custom tactics.. it must have a drastic effect on the stamina of the players of the team... coz now team can pressure soo much for 90 minutes.. 70 and above on these settings should suck the stamina of most outfield players by the 60th minute or so... this would lead to the game opening up towards the end and feel more realistic when a big team plays a weaker opposition...

- Also how about implementing icon player switch along with the L1 and the right stick switch like in NBA games .. this can be done by allowing to press and hold the L3 button so that x, o, square and triangle appear on top of the defenders in the back line... so imagine ur playing as pool and are tracking a player with mash and u observe that a striker has made a run to the far post u can just press L3 and square(or whatever is assigned) to take control of the defender near the striker to position ur self to intercept the pass... this would take away all player selection hassles...

Pick up any nba game preferably 2K .. there have icon selection and icon passing... while it would run the game if we had icon passing... however icon selection of the ball (during multiplayer and throw ins) and while defending would erradicate the player selection issue.. In 2K u press R1 and each of the 5 players on the pitch get certain icons (x,o,square, triangle and L2) highlighted above them so if u press R1 and x u'll get control of the point guard.... Similarly i Fifa if they keep icon selection available for even just the players in defence depending on whether ur playing a 4 at the back or 3 or 5 it would be great... so u can directly take control of the left back if u need to when the ball is near ur right back rather than pressing L1 constantly and getting control of some random midfielder... i hope u understand otherwise i will look up a nba video demonstrating this... cheers...

I understand ;) However, you can use the right analog stick to choose a player in FIFA. It is not exactly the same idea, but it works better than tapping L1 all the time. You should give it a go.

What I really want for the next FIFA is more personal input. With this I mean that some of us are quite fanatic and don't mind spending a few hours/days finetuning the game to make it hyper-realisitc. So if EA would give the player a chance to customize most items for (in the first place) offline-play, I'd be thrilled.

I'm thinking about the ability to choose weather conditions in MM, customize stadiums (they did really well this year with the names), be able to edit or create your own shirts/boots/balls/etc.

I think loads of people on this forum would be happy if they can make the game like a real game. Even when a lot of work has to be done ourselves, if only we were given the opportunity. To me there should be more to a FIFA-game then just putting in the disc, picking Man U vs. Barca and playing...

What im saying is that along with the right stick i'd also like an icon selection implemented... the way the do it is up to them...

And i agree with u completely about customisation and the ability to edit players for the offline mode freely like PES... Fifa 08 had the ability to assign kit numbers in the team management menu... when they said it would be back i didnt expect it to just be back for the MM.. its quite tedious to change numbers u have to do it like last year a couple of numbers are wrongly assigned like Diamanti...

There are a few more small detalils that i'd like to see in the game that'll add to the overall experience...
- Injuries: Want to see varied injuries like head, ankle, thigh, etc for both impact and long term injuries... Now for impact injuries when a player has to be taken of fro treatment please show a group or paramedics stretchering him off or a physio helping him off depending on the context... Also this is just a thought but when an opposition player gets injured and u have the ball u can choose to put it out of play.. a symbol for an injury could appear on the top right conrner in the same place as the advantage icon appears and during the time the sumbol is highlighted u can put the ball out of play for the opposition to return it... Also appropriate commentary can be provided for it...

- Captains: Please allow us to change captains during a game or allow us to assign vice-captains so that when a captain is subbed he hands over the band to the vice captain and please provide animations, commentary and cut scenes for the same...

Also something i noticed in Fifa 10 from and opposition Goal kick i headed back wards to my keeper now since my denesive line was high up the field the ball bounced short of the keeper who came out of the box and then started shepherding the ball back into the box... all this was fine but when he entered the box he didnt pick it up when he could easily have done so.. now this is something to look at...

Also looking in to a way of implementing an indirect free kick for a back pass... i know PES had it it happened once in PES 2008 for me... i was totally blown away..

As well as fouls for hand balls hand balls the PC and PS2 have them...

-Freekicks: As i've mention please overhaul the free kick system... how often do we see the ball being laid of to some third person... i cant score the trademark stevie g lay off free kick... allow us to choose which of the two the ball will be laid of to.. also include a dummy kick and a dummy kick and lay off..

I do not totally agree. I understand what your saying and licensing is a big issue (we need CL and Euroleague and even Road To World Cup - rememeber great FIFA '98), but you can't expect EA to give every player in the game the right shoes or haircut or whatever. Same as the stadiums/tactics. Off course the big teams will be correct, but teams/players in smaller leagues will never be.

So i.m.o. it would be best if EA gave us the chance to edit more things than they do now (which is practicly nothing). And something you probably don't know, but in my country there is a law that prevents sportbetting companies to advertise. So a lot of kits are without sponsors (AC Milan, Real, Bolton, etc.) It is now impossible to edit the kits and put the sponsor up yourself. Things like that would improve realism for me.

Nontheless, gameplay is still way more important ;)

i see where you are coming from but this issue is out of EA's hands as they buy the licenses to the teams and stadiums and so forth so that means they cant let us customize them because that breaks the license, so all we can hope for is more licenses.

Another point i wanna add is customizable kits, so i can play with the home shirt and the away shorts with the 3rd kits socks

Yeah, that would be a great idea (like Man U in the Liverpool game this weekend). I hope they put this in MM too. No point in just having it before friendlies. Just like weather-effetctsn choosing time and stadium, ball etc. Just put this in MM before each game. How hard can this be (could be rather difficult, dunno anything about cpu  )

Then I agree with you on the licensing. Nike only has three different kind of boots. What's up with that?

yeah that really gets to people like me and not to mention that all 3 colorways are now not worn by anyone, they need the blue vapors and the new 360 CTRs they have in PES.

With the MM stuff it would just be great if they got it right so we didnt have to change it. Its really not that hard to program surely!

ESSENTIALS for me to even consider buying FIFA 11:

- Manager Mode seasonal weather (Nov-Feb sunday afternoon, monday evening games at night, snow, rain in right places etc)

- Manager Mode pre match and half time selectable team talks, instructions - can link to improving team chemistry, confidence, morale, momentum etc

- Manager Mode incorporating playoffs, managing youth team, training schedules, more immersion.

- Improved atmosphere authenticity (derby game/important matches crowds are feverpitch, banners and flags in crowds, stadiums not being half empty most of the time, more varied commentary etc)

- Added Match realism - injuries for longer than 1 week, improved refereeing decisions, maybe even the addition of when a ref decision is given against you, pressing R3 or other will initiate a gesture or argument with the ref, with some form of intelligence behind it so that if you argue alot of decisions you are less likely to receive them in future or more likely to be booked etc, adds another dimension of tactics to the game, when to dispute decisions etc.
Improved cut scenes on substitutions, not just showing the stadium roof, Manager and subs in dugout, subs warming up down touchlines, 4th officials etc.
Referees consult lineman on penalty decisions or after bad tackles

- TROPHY CELEBRATIONS - An absolute MUST!!!!!!
wwhen winning the league, cup etc, instead of a static screen saying you have won the league, an on pitch trophy presntation, players doing a lap of honour, ticker tape, crowd throws scarves onto the pitch etc - actually make it feel rewarding for winning things.

- Collision system
this looks very good but feels scripted like the CPU always determine swho wins a jostle. during these instances, use right stick to lean into or away from an opposition defender, adding a level of skill as to who wins the tussles.

- Stadium Creator
Use a template editor in game to choose from different styles of stands, roofs, floodlights, pitch surface, goals, coloured seats etc, make your own stadium, name it and assign to any team in game

- Improved Network/Online connectivity with PSN/XBL friends lists - quick 1 click game invites, more solid servers

There are hundreds of other little tweaks EA could do to make it wholly a more immersive realistic game, i think actual gameplay itself is pretty solid and very fluid so not much work required on the engine but rather bolting bits on to make the game feel rich and rewarding!

I agree with a lot of what the guys here are saying. I like the idea of giving us more options when it comes to customization. What is more important to me is the gameplay. I feel that giving the teams a more lifelike feel will be the best improvement they can make. What is mean by that is, making more teams play like they really do. I understand they cant do this with all teams, but at least dont make them all the same. Change it up a bit at least.

Player individuality is the most important thing. This will affect gameplay a lot. Right now there is no player that is feared in fifa. (besides Messi and Ronaldo) If we could have playmakers like Iniesta and Diego feel like if you need a chance all you have to do is give them the ball and they will make something happen. That is what will make this game better. For defenders like puyol and canavaro to never give up on a ball, especially if it is in the air on a corner kick! The only thing this game needs is team and player likeness.

Also, the online for this game is great and we all know that and expect nothing less. EA has never disappointed in this field. The focus now needs to turn to offline modes. Manager mode is on a 3 year plan. I would like to see some true depth in this mode, better AI, more realistic results, youth teams or reserves. I would like to be able to start my own team as well. Make my own uniform, name my team, create a flag and emblem.

If EA reads any of this, I hope they pay attention to the player and team likeness part. That is what this game needs to see more of. If fifa can do this then (as sad as I am to say this) PES will be no more!

There is only one thing that bugs me and that is the feeling that all of your momentum gets passed on to the other team as soon as you have scored! am I alone on this? I am always getting scored on as soon as i score. and if i am having trouble scoring, i score as soon as i get scored on. ANYONE!!!

The tackling system needs to be completely overhauled, i asked this in the news thread hoping Adam would see it but does anyone thing they can guess the next couple of big features for FIFA 11 and/or FIFA 2010 World Cup?

I seriously cant think of anything left for them to do apart from fix what doesnt work and thats quite the list.

They will surely have some massive online World Cup feature you can bet on that for the WC game but apart from that im not sure what other cool features they will have. A special carry over from FIFA 10 VP to WC VP?

Custom NBA style sliders in Fifa.

Postby Viniero09 » Fri Nov 20, 2009 5:41 am

Now there already exist team sliders in the form of custom tactics however more fields could be added to it such as tactics used by teams when they are up by a goal (defend deep and go the corner flag in the dying seconds or keep on attacking arsenal style) or down by a goal... also we need every team to have a custom tactics slot each..

The second point here would be global sliders (CPU and User sliders) like NBA games this determines the success and failure of certain moves such as:
- One touch passing,
- Outside shooting,
- Long balls,
- Heading,
- Offside frequency,
- Injury frequency,
- Handball frequency,
- Fouling (various types of fouls),
- Referee Decision Error frequency (commentary could be provided for the same),
- Free Kick success, etc (suggest fields u'd like to see)

This will help us make a more realistic experience especially for the single player offline modes (i strongly feel that the single player experience is being neglected due to the various AI issues) having these sliders will direct the AI better and give use a more satisfying experience so if ur not happy with the frequency with which long shots go in u can change it up to suit ur style..

If this is combined with the ability to freely (PES style) edit player stats we will have the best football game available. And for those who don't want to go through the effort of customizing them allow us to share our offline squads, tactics and team sliders online.

Well, As PES fan I have to say that the competiton between FIFA and PES was a tough one. FIFA has the upper hand on gameplay and animation and PES has the upper hand on graphics, players individulaity and unique team play for each team (well for most of the teams)

As a pesfan for ages I have to admit that FIFA is more enjoyable game and defently more realistic but somehow I always return to play PES even though it's gameplay is poor.

As I see it. the next FIFA need to have better graphics and more "celebrations scenes" (I meant for the short movies after you win/lose a match or scoring a goal) because right now they are really bad. one more thing, after scoring a goal I dont want to control my player and attempt to do the celebration move. I want a shot movie just like on PES where I could see the player who score the goal run like a crazy.

Also, create a uniqe team play for each team. and focus on player individuality.

One of the best thing on PES is the edit mode. I know that on fifa you dont need edit mode because all teams are licensed but it's really cool feature plus FIFA itself dont have all the teams and leauges so by using edit mode you can add those teams. the most important thing in the edit mode is to have a varitey of layers with different shapes so it will be easy to create the kits.
It's official- The king will return on October 8th.
