I'm not one of those who do tricks all the time, but I enjoy a feint or a flick here and there throughout the game, just to spice it up. These controls would be incredibly intuitive, and at the same time difficult enough to make the moves an event you would appreciate each time you pulled it off perfectly.
Kind of reminds me of the controls on Skate & Skate2.
Keep up the good work, really hope Konami uses these suggestions on PES 2011, or, as another member wrote, employ you as at least a consultant!
Agreed.

The Trick system has to be completely CHANGED with:
1) Easy to use
2) Reliable control button settings (not like same stick/button for movement and skills)
3) Timing/response ( because tricks are useful only in close situations)
All over this thread, I will be using these abbreviations, have a look
R1- Close control
R2- Sprint
L1- Spare Button
L2- Change player
RS- Right Stick ( FOOT MOVEMENT)
LS- Left Stick ( PLAYER MOVEMENT)
FLICK - here Flick means a touch![]()
________________________________________________________________________________________________
ALL THE TRICKS EXPLAINED HERE ARE DONE WITH RIGHT STICK and ITS COMBINATIONS
IMPORTANT CONCEPT PLEASE READ
When a player is controlling the ball, moving the right stick or RS in any direction forward will just flick the ball in that direction, the important thing here to be noted is How long the stick is moved , that far the ball will be moved
________________________________________________________________________________________________
THE BASIC CONTROLS
1) FLICK/PUSH THE BALL IN ANY DIRECTION. (nickname: FLICK)
button config : RIGHT STICK MOVEMENT in any direction.
- when on ball, moving the RS in a direction will move/flick the ball.
2) DRAG THE BALL. (nickname: DRAG)
button config : R1(close control) + RIGHT STICK MOVEMENT in any direction.
- The player will hold the ball in his toe, and in what ever direction we move the stick, he will move the ball.
3) LIFT BALL. (nickname: LIFT)
button config : L1(Spare button) + RIGHT STICK MOVEMENT in any direction.
- The player will lift the ball in any direction.
4) FAKE MOVE. (nickname: FAKE)
button config : L2(change player) + RIGHT STICK MOVEMENT in any direction.
- the player makes a upper body fake

GENERAL REQUEST :
1) make both the sticks complete 360 degree
2) Set power bar for pass and long pass.

if you have any influence to even get the Konami guys to look at this I would love to see it implemented. Just setting here working it out it seems like it would work quite nicely. They don't seem too easy but not overwhelmingly hard because you want them to be almost second thought.

Totaly funny how these were in the PS1 games. I think they should also add a power bar to them. Circle can be for normal punts and sqaure for route one styled punts.

Re: PES 2010 Wish-lists: Controls & Tricks
Absolutely brilliant ideas coming from 'freak08.' A Right trick stick which makes special moves easy to perform and without disrupting player movement is now essential in modern football games. I only have one small question for 'freak08'. Does your trick stick suggest that every footballer will be able to perform all the tricks by simply knowing how to 'drag', 'fake' and 'flick'? I have tried to resolve this issue below (original PES controls):
• Holding L1 with Right Stick = STEP OVERS and Upper body FAKES in every direction. This enables you to perform special moves like Matthews Feint manually e.g. hold L1 and fake 90°right with trick stick, then flick 90° left on left stick (i.e. player movement).
• Holding R2 with Right Stick= DRAGGING or rolling the boot over the ball with player sidestepping. Advanced dribblers can drag diagonally as well as drag back, forwards, and sideways. This Enables them to perform special moves like Elastico manually e.g. Hold R2 and drag 45°fwd-right with trick stick, then 45° fwd-left on left stick to turn player.
• Using Right Stick on its own = easy PES Special moves:
Fwd (x2) = heel rush
Diagonal Fwd-left, then diagonal fwd-right (or vice versa) = Performs lunge feint or ‘elastico’ for advanced dribblers (effective version of elastico like fifa version)
Sideways (x2) in either direction = cross-over turn (i.e. ronaldo chop)
Left, then right (or vice versa) = Performs Matthews Feint (does not have to be stationary) or ‘Quick Scissors Dribble’ for advanced dribblers
Back (x2) = Quick Turn (i.e. Cruyff turn)
360°= Marseille Roulette
R3 = Scooping. Pressing R3 when receiving a pass will scoop the ball over players head or lift it up nicely for a volley or lobbed through ball.
• Holding L1 with Right Stick = STEP OVERS and Upper body FAKES in every direction. This enables you to perform special moves like Matthews Feint manually e.g. hold L1 and fake 90°right with trick stick, then flick 90° left on left stick (i.e. player movement).

This Enables them to perform special moves like Elastico manually e.g. Hold R2 and drag 45°fwd-right with trick stick, then 45° fwd-left on left stick to turn player.

TRICK STICK FOR PES:
• Holding L1 with Right Stick =Step overs and Upper body feints in every direction with right stick. This enables you to perform special moves like Matthews Feint manually e.g. hold L1 and feint 90°right with right stick, then turn 90° left on left stick (i.e. player movement).
• Holding R2 with Right Stick = Dragging/rolling the boot over the ball with player sidestepping. This feature includes drag backs, drag sideways and drag forwards with advanced dribblers being able to drag/sidestep diagonally aswell to create brand new angles to exploit. You will also be able to perform special moves like Elastico manually e.g. Hold R2 and drag diagonally fwd with trick stick, then flick diagonally fwd in other direction with left stick.
• Using Right Stick on its own (PES Special moves made easy):
BASIC:
Fwd (x2) = Heel rush
Sideways (x2) in either direction = cross-over turn (i.e. Ronaldo chop)
Back (x2) = Quick Turn (i.e. Cruyff turn)
Diagonal Back in either direction (x2) = Player back heels in a diagonal direction. Very useful when receiving passes with a defender close behind you.
R3 = Scooping. Pressing R3 when receiving a pass will scoop the ball over players head or lift it up nicely for a volley.
360° in either direction = Marseille Roulette
ADVANCED:
Back, then Fwd = small bridge and double-tapping fwd for large bridge
Diagonal Fwd, then opposite Diagonal Fwd = Performs lunge feint or ‘elastico’ for advanced dribblers (effective version of elastico like fifa version)
Sideways, then opposite Sideways = Performs Matthews Feint (does not have to be stationary) or ‘Quick Scissors Dribble’ for advanced dribblers
Back then Sideways in either direction = Drag back turns

your ideas are also great dude, i find your controls being READYMADE, which is good and easy. Do you suggest the same thing like i said? that is I wanted like a POWER BAR in right stick, though this will be invisible so that there is infinite variety when the right stick is made complete 360 degree.
I always wanted a complete new type of controls, even better that what we both stated here, actually i'm working on it. Now I'm working on defensive controls, which i'll be posting here. For example a defender/any other player without ball could use right stick for stealing ball and (or) blocking the shots. likewise I want to give full freedom to the defensive side of the game in terms of skills of the defender. I'm also analyzing the gameplay inch-by-inch, and finding them then and there and making a list where the AI fails. So far what I've found is AI of our own team is performing bad when it comes to attack, players have zero common sense inside the 18 yard box

Guys, I have just posted on the main page as to how I think Konami should be thinking with regards to control set-up and I have to say some of the ideas being banded about in here would key in somewhat with what I would like to see.

You have just said, what i was thinking of... Great !!
Konami have to implement a system where freedom with the ball and foot should not be limited. Your idea is very useful in making the controls more reliable and I can imagine how good it can be, now its all up to konami to implement these.

Re: PES 2010 Wish-lists: Controls & Tricks
Alan has come up with a very bright idea which enables PES to introduce the trick stick without abandoning their 'manual control' ideas which are currrently provided in terms of manual passes on the right stick:
* At the beginning, Player has to choose if he wants d-pad or L-stick for player movement rather than wasting both for the same thing
* You then have a spare D-pad or L-stick for team strategy (like Fifa) rather than holding L2 with x, square, circle or triangle as we currently do for team strategy in PES.
* Now holding L2 with x, square, circle and triangle becomes manual passes with a power bar (rather than R-stick), manual long passes, manual through balls, finesse shots, and also the trick stick (R-stick) with a power bar (as freak08 has suggested). If you prefer automatic passes and controls, dont hold L2.
This is very impressive stuff. Just hope Adam, Seabass and Konami are taking note!!

Re: PES 2010 Wish-lists: Controls & Tricks
Forgot to mention under my 'trick stick' post some additional moves:
* Heel turn (or fifa's 'heel to heel' manouvre when on weaker side): The 'heel turn' is a new PES 2010 manouvre which can only be performed when stationary or after a drag back but I've include it under my right -trick - stick moves i.e. diagonal forward (x2) in either direction.
* Special shot feint: This player card enables players to perform the shot feint as it originally was in PES 6 i.e. performing a quick turn with the inside or outside of the boot after the shot feint.

Re: PES 2010 Wish-lists: Controls & Tricks
im new to the boards tho i want to add my input to help pes become amazing.
1. make the player choose between dpad or analog in button configuration so the other can change attack levels with up and down, freeing l2 for something else.
2. power bars on passes. Even if they are automated still, this will provide us with some representation of power used.
3. Remove tricks from left stick. I dont know how many know this tho you can perform 90% of the tricks can be performed with the right stick whilst holding L2 and this is alot easier. This will also open room for more tricks.
4. MORE TRICKS. Im somewhat satisfied with the ones present however these are nothing compared to fifas (One of the only things whick i like better bout ea's borefest).
5. Trick ideas, rainbow flick back up up, ribery spin flick back then left or right, applicable r.chop, ball rolls hold left or right .
6. more basic tricks for basic players

Re: PES 2010 Wish-lists: Controls & Tricks
some more suggestions
1. 360 shot fakes (another good feature from fifa i have to admit), of course 45 and 90 should be quicker however than say 180 however 180 still being able to execute them in the right situations.or atleast the 45 degree one on pes 6, the 2009 right turn one and a new 180 one would be cool.
2. also what about shot fake i.e shoot then pass with direction combo whilst in the air to attempt to bring the ball down into space with a downwards header. Stats or cards would affect how effective. Ive seen so many opps for this in every game!

i would love to see the addition of a trick stick similar to the one in fifas, in my opinion fifa have almost nailed it
also i would like to see specific players being able to do specific tricks according to wat they do in real life, for example puyol shouldnt be able to pull off the same types of tricks as cristiano ronaldo

Honestly, I put more emphasis on team play rather than a one man show. Simple run by opponent by catching him on the wrong foot is fine by me. All the flip flop arcadish tricks that don't really work on the real pitch are just an eye candy.

Regarding the news about pes 2011,,
i want to give feedback to konami.:
for trick system there is a new system implemented, i just want feedback konami to keep trick system with the d-pad, like in pes 2010. Because that is the most advance way to do the trick, it feel doing the trick ourselves..
Thanks....

Everything is ok like in pes 2010, but you should add Rabona for crosses by players which weaker foot parametar is less then 3, and add crosses with outside of stronger foot, like quaresma ... a rainbow should be nice one to
... and make marseile roulette much longer step, like in ea sports World Cup 2010 game, its really nice done!

Maybe has been mentioned but button to say to GK "stay back" (reversal to triangle) when you see GK is rushing out stupidly. And ofcourse add Vuvuzelas on stadiums;)
