Re: PES 2011 Wish-lists: Commentary
It would be my dream to have a football game with more than one commentary team as this would greatly to the realism of the matches played.Or you could have the second commentary team call the games for the CL EL only.
Please,Please don't include Mark Lawrence as co commentator next year i don't think i could take much more of his self righteous, self opinionated bollocks for much longer.
Thanks Konami

yes it is great, but the problem is that the languages are region locked, Konami please change this!

Al Jazeera Sports commentry is great, nearly every youtube reel is from there!
Also how about adding that Auto-Pronounciation tool that was used in Virtua Soccer in the late 90's, that would be very useful for created or generated players!

Re: PES 2011 Wish-Lists: Commentary
The commentary needs to be improved. The one we have now is dated. To make a new commentary good, I think it is very important to;
- Focus on one commentary, ENGLISH, and make sure it is really good. With more languages I am afraid the commentary wont be as good. Since the time spent on each commentary will be less with many of them.
And english is not my native language.

Re: PES 2011 Wish-Lists: Commentary
I´ve got the Spanish version of PES 2010. And the best new we received in last months was that Konami was using "Carlos Martinez" on commentary... But, What the F**K did you do with his voice???? it´s a completely mess... It sounds totally out of pitch, too low... even "Maldini" comentaries that were fine last year, sounds worse this last one...
I only can say, fix them... and please... coordinate what is happening in the field with what the commentator says... I love Carlos Martinez in the spanish football C+ broadcast, but what you have done this year with his voice it´s totally dissapointed!...

Re: PES 2011 Wish-Lists: Commentary
Please the commentators, the French people, the English people, the Spaniards, the Italians, the Germans and the Portuguese, can say to yourselves all the names of clubs, existing players in the game(set, play), the national teams, compettitions and stages(stadiums) because one never hear(understand) them, he(it) misses variety, of conveniently, retorts and words.
Incorporate please the Dutch, Japanese comments (simplified for texts for game), Arabs, Russian (simplified for texts for game), Turkish and Greek (simplified for texts for game).

How about using Ray Hudson from GolTV. He is the best color commentator ever and his lines are poetic and truly express how beautiful football is.

Re: PES 2011 Wish-Lists: Commentary
1. Say ALL player names andd add new ones that aren't their.
2. More interaction between the two commentators they should share a joke occasionally. real commentry teams. More poetic and clever lines Jon Champion does this well.
3. Commentary fits the occasion. Like if the commentator says ironic cheers make sure we can here the ironic cheers. If manager is shouting let's see the mnager starting. Subsitutions if a mtch winner is coming on or off talk about it more. Penalties they could say he is unlucky etc. Another example: Typical Barca on the counter-attack.
4. Fluid commentary through the whole game. If it's a script like the commentators perfect the way they say it until they are happy with it.
5. Player specific lines.
6. Background info of each club along with the description. Same with teams e.g playing style history are they good team or a minnow?
7. Talk about the asisst more. The player should be credited.
8. If the ball hits the back of the keepers neck from a free kick show unluckiness for the goalie; but take nothing away from the taker.
9. In be a legend give more stats on your player are you a journeyman are you loyal?

Re: PES 2011 Wish-Lists: Commentary
1. lawro isn't the one for you, he doesn't have the enthusiasm, change him to someone else. Champion does truly awesome job, and if there's a possibility he'd like to do this in the future, don't let him go. it would be a big risk now to let someone else try if they would be suiting for the game. a pure lottery, i'd say. too many times i've heard (outside football games) that someone, who could be brilliant in real life commentary, messes it up when doing a game commentary. they often change to something unrecognizable.
2. there is no discussive element in pes comms. in the intro scene, lawro mostly says something totally unrelated to champion's introduction. the same goes for the rest of the game. why not get both commentators in the studio at the same time? would help a lot, scripted or unscripted...
3. why co-commentator only speaks during replays, and even then, not always. before corners, silence. in yellow and red card situations, silence. raises a question: why didn't you let champion do all the rest, and leave co-commentator out altogether. is it just because there should be a co-commentator, even if in minor capacity? not good enough reason. things should be balanced, or, only one commentator. that's my view of it.
4. the generic nature of commentary is one of the biggest problems. obviously when you haven't got a team licence, you can't mention a particular team in the game, and that's just fine then. but why cannot you do any player-related commentary. "what a save by almunia." "i really can't understand how rooney missed that" etc. etc.
5. you should make sure that people in england who are producing these studio sessions in soho square or wherever, are passionate and ambitious enough, and not just doing something because they have to. i seriously have doubts about this when hearing lawro now three games in a row. while the new ones this year are better from him, but what exactly happened in 2007? "just read the lines, and we're outta here." and you should realize that there have been dozens of polls in pesfan requesting removal of lawro. so why do you keep those original horrible lines from him in the game, when you should very well know that they were everything that made commentary an extreme pain to listen to back then, and obviously now. quantity before quality? why not think for once the other way around?
6. one thing i've been wondering for ages is that why an earth the commentary in footie games must be partial for the human player. "oh no they've conceded!" reminds me of some club's own tv channel's match commentary, a thing that always makes me vomit, i have to say. it shouldn't be like that.
just a few notes. thank you for reading.
ADD. obviously a lot of things always come down to money, so konami should stop doing that other game i can't remember the name of. so all the royalties pes make should be used for pes in the future.
