Goalkeepers in PES

Goalkeepers are Important in every game if a keeper is red carded a player has to be sacrifised so that means he is important. So Konami Make That Better Every Keeper has his own ability i know it will be hard for you to check every one but at least get General idea. see he strech again with the right hand. second i would like better commentatory and crowd atmosphere the commentator here is perfect his name is Guy Mowbray from Match Of The Day Watch when they score here is the commentator again and final editing Gloves we Should have a range of Them. thank you Konami

Whilst I am enjoying the game I can't get over how comical the Goalkeepers are and the animations for them are not up to scratch. I will be trying to upload video so I can make my points.

The goalkeepers are terrible in PES 2010. I don't know which are more dreadful , them or the referees. However I found with a little editing they can be fixed, they'll still make the odd clunker, but so do real goalies. What I did for all the keepers ( for all the Champions League teams, so far) is I gave them a stat boost in the edit mode. Defence +5, Jump +5, Goalkeeping Skill +5. Give it a try if you're disillusioned with the keepers in PES 2010, it works for me. Unfortunately theres a myriad of other bugs and issues I have with the game

The Goalkeepers are terrible there are times when you shot directly at the keepers and push the ball into the goal!! WTF

They dive on the ball like it's bomb but it is totally unrealistic because they dive like Superman.

They try to save everything with their feet WTF!!!!

There's still one MAJOR, MAJOR adjustment that needs to be made:
In PES 2009 you could let a goalkeeper make a save when pressing the triangle and circle buttons at the same time (on PS3). But a lot of the time the goalkeeper would indeed dive to try to make the save, but the defender / player you were controlling would also make a sliding!!! Something you obviously don't want to do, but it resulted in many Penalty Kicks as the defender would take the player down

So for PES 2010: instead of pressing triangle & circle to let the goalkeeper dive, you should press triangle & square to let the goalkeeper dive!!! This way you won't accidently make a sliding tackle with the defender you are controlling! Would remove a massive frustration to the game we all love

Konami if You have problem to make realistic goalkeepers animations I have idea for You. Copy goalkeepers animations from FIFA. KONAMI You should be SMART!

I have posted numerous times on what i want to see improve in PES 2011.
Please Konami, even if you only fix one thing please make it the keepers! Yes the animations need updating and the refs are sometimes questionable but all that pales in significance compared to the goalkeepers. It's unacceptable that you can control the entire game, defend well and still concede stupid goals which lead to uncontrolable screaming at the tv usually encompanied with a range of expletives!
I would pay if they could do dlc just to fix the keepers, it would make it a much more enjoyable game.
They need to catch a LOT more, parry further away from the goal and at harder angles for the attackers to pounce on, their positioning needs to improve, they need to follow the ball not just run out aimlessly, they need to anticipate the flight of the ball from crosses and from through balls and not just slide on the floor allowing the ball to bounce past them, they need to dive correctly with the correct arm and finally not just sit down and let the ball bounce off their knees, especially when the shot is painfully slow.

Please Please PLEASE Konami sort the keepers out and if possible add some dlc for 2010 to make plenty of fans a little happier

It would be great if Goalkeepers had other animations as well such as pointint to there defenders to mark up during corners or moving the wall on free kicks.

Please Konami take this whole post on board because Goalkeepers need to step up a level and become more individual and this is achievable by giving them

Base stats as I mentioned before in this post

Different starting stnaces

Different drop kicking

Different throwing styles

A few different diving styles based on the wieght of the player and technique.

Yeah the bombsquad animation must disappear, the stances must be fixed, the animation is horrific, the fluidity of play must affect the keepers as well, there must be more animations for keepers. They must make more 1 handed saves and I don't mean just when diving in to bottom corners, anywhere in to the goal, of course depending on the situation. Lets just hope that the keepers are at last next gen. Fifa keepers are far from perfect, but they are doing their job just fine, they have lots of animations and they are well positioned on the goal.

The other thing we would liked brough back if it is not too late is red cards for GKs. I remeber in PES 3 once going through beating the keeper and being hauled down and he was shown a straight red.

Goal keepers should have separate stats from players. In fact, all areas of play should be separated in stat section. Defenders, midfielders and attackers.

Another issue with our keepers is that there hands aren't stretched, i mean the fingers they must be stretched so they can cover more space with them, just check fifas goalkeepers and you will see how well there animations are made. This is a good example how the hands should look like

By tweaking PES 2010, reducing on field players stats, goal keepers actually start pulling miracles off. Not to say they're the way they're supposed to be, but far better than what Konami did by default stats.

That again brings up my desire to see separate stats for goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and attackers, each covering certain attributes necessary for a specific position.

With tweaked stats, PES 2010 just became fun again. Who knew.
