Re: F1 2011 - Codemaster
Managed to put in few time trial laps with this today and overall I'm happy. Graphically, I think the cars look great and the scenery looks okay. The driving feels superb though so far

Re: F1 2011 - Codemaster
I haven't touched the career mode yet but I've been messing around in time trials again as well as a few quick grand prixs today and I'm really enjoying it. The handling is great. The cars have a nice sense of weight now and the racing seems raw and visceral to me. This is definitely not a game for pansies
When the car is tuned right you can really attack the corners. The sound and feel of the tires gripping the tarmac as you brake and go through tight corners is nice. Based on my limited play thus far I think KERS and DRS have been implemented well and add to the game. Using KERS at the start is fun. I haven't noticed any major problems with the game yet.

On the last lap of a grand prix race my pit crew told me I need to pit
It's important not to use DRS coming out of corners as well as not to leave your fuel mixture on rich for whole race

What do you have it on?
Hearing bad things about PS3 and the game in general, in terms of bugs
From framerate issues (PS3), cars looking like puppets (Strings and no wheels - PC), step back in the graphical department across all platforms (even max specs on PC)
The PC can be modded slightly which is making me lean towards getting it on PC, which is disappointing as I wanted to do a Co-op with Gav. I'm pretty disappointed having read their forums

So Codemasters release another buggy game that falls short of expectations? Surprise!

I have it on the PS3. I haven't noticed any real framerate issues yet, especially when racing. Other than the one I mentioned above I haven't noticed any bugs yet, although I haven't started the career mode. I think the driving is excellent this year, so much so that I'm quite happy just hammering the time trials

Just did a Grand prix at Sepang. Brilliant race. My DRS didn't work until about 3 laps before the end of the race
Had a bug where I was given a drive-thru penalty for causing a collision although there was no one within 500 feet of me

Very nice. Same here
There's been reports of slowdown on the PS3 but haven't encountered any type of slowdown yet

Just managed to put my Force India on the second row in Malaysia
Doubt I'll do well in the race, I'll need Zen-like concentration to do well
One thing that's great about this game is the lack of AI incidents. No longer am I being smashed into mid-corner

Very happy about that too. Last year I'd cringe every time another car would get near me or I'd brake into a corner.
Just had an epic race at Monaco. I started 20th on the grid and finished 17th. I was exhausted at the end but very happy with the result

Re: F1 2011 - Codemaster
Think I encountered a safety car bug...
In Australia, I'm 15th and apparently 35 seconds behind 14th after a spin and pitstop. Safety car comes out as I'm leaving the pits, I catch up with it on the 3rd corner. My race engineer tells me to unlap myself which I duly begin to do. But here's the weird part, despite doing 1:28 and 1:29's, I never catch the que. There is no que. I never catch the car in front, despite taking some 15 seconds back on one lap. Safety car goes back in and I'm within 7 seconds of 14th and that's only because he made a pitstop. Seems to me that the Safety car didn't form a que at all. And here's the clincher...I hadn't been lapped. Vettel Lapped me a lap or 2 after the SC went back in
Oh and not liking the cutscenes when you don't meet your goal, look ridiculous. You'd swear the race engineer told you that your whole family had perished in a freak lawnmower accident. Bit overdone tbh
