I've gone on a run of 5 games without a win now
Fallen to 10th. My players are quite tired and not performing. Might ask the board for some funds in January to buy a midfielder or two and maybe a striker

Re: Football Manager 2011
Start of December, HSV are lying in 2nd a point behind league leaders Leverkusen
1. Leverkusen Pld:13 Won:9 Lst:2 Drn:2
2. HSV Pld:14 Won:8 Lst:2 Drn:4
3. B.Munich Pld:14 Won:7 Lst:1 Drn:6
Trochowski is in fine form for me as is Elia. So far so good as i am performing way above my expectations. I will be happy with a top 5 finish and European football.

Re: Football Manager 2011
Just started a new game with BV Veendam in the Dutch second division. Don't know anything about the club or the players so could be good fun researching for the challenge ahead
My first game on this FM due to me buying it and not really being into it so hopefully i can make it last!

Re: Football Manager 2011
Season 2010/11 review.
Started with HSV. A media prediction of 12th, a transfer budget of €0 and half my squad and staff out of contract at the end of the season. I had a lot to do with not a lot to work with. Thankfully HSV have a few gems in the team.
My main goal this season was to get a top 5 finish and get a shot at a European competition for next season. I made 4 signings of note before the season started. Signed Rafael Da Silva and Thorgan Hazard on loan. I also signed Koke from Ath. Madrid and he signs at the end of the season. The last signing was a Brazilian right back named Romario from Victoria. He will sign on January 1st 2012.
The league season started well and we where performing well, getting some decent results and keeping a nice position in th top 8th. My stand out performers where Trochowski, Elia, Aogo, Rafael, Westermann and Petric. They worked hard and it showed as the team was performing well.
We got K.O'd from the German Cup at the quarter final stage by Wolfsburg. Disappointed to say the least. Nearing the end of the season and it was a 3 horse race between myself (HSV) Wolfsburg and Leverkusen for 2nd place. Bayern Munich where away in front by 8 points. Coming to the last 3 games a scenario had opened up. Bayern where 5 points ahead of me and i was guaranteed 2nd place but if Bayern where to slip up and i was to win my remaining games it would mean i won the Bundesliga.
I wasn't takling that for granted but we had a chance as our final 2 games where against a relegated Hannover andmid table Hoffenheim. Bayern on the other hand had two tricky away games to 3rd placed Wolfsburg and 7th placed Dortmund. Part one of the plan had gone to plan as we beat Hannover 2-0 and Bayern lost 1-0 to Wolfsburg. My club captain rallied the troops for the last game. Things didn't start great as i lost Ze Roberto to injury and had Elia, Hazard and Castelen unavailable. Bayern also took a 2-0 lead inside the first 10 minutes and we where struggling to keep possession and attack with any meaning.
Into the second half it was 0-0 in my game and Dortmund had pulled one back against Munich making it 2-1. I still didn't hold out much hope as it seemed i was resigned to a draw. Late on Dortmund levelled but a draw isn't good enough plus i had to win. Enter the injury time of both games. Jansen smashes a ball in top corner and sends the travelling fans into hysteria and within moments i checked the Bayern game and Dortmund had scored. Cut to me dancing around. What a season! What a climax! So unexpected!
Hoffenheim v HSV

Dortmund v Bayern Munich

League table 2010/11

Sad news of the season is that i lost Trochowski to Liverpool on a free. Reason for that is because the club has no money and i couldn't renew his contract

Re: Football Manager 2011
Things are not going to plan at the moment. Currently 14th in Serie B and my players are seemingly exhausted.
Belaid can't make it through a full match
Some investment in the summer is on the cards i think

Re: Football Manager 2011
Finished 13th...
I've been given €6m to spend on players this summer
So far i've signed 4 players
Christian Battocchio - Udinese - Loan (end of the season) again
Hocine Ragued - Slavia Prague - Free Transfer
Mario Cassano - Piacenze - €450k
Magnus Eikrem - Man Utd - Free Transfer
Ramzi Aya - Fiorentina & Juventus - €750k
EDIT: Just beat Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and 4 others to a 16 year old striker. He rejected all their offers

Great work with the 16 year old Danny
After winning the league and outplaying every team last year, this season isn't going to great!
Need a few wins to get us going!

I don't want to call myself a genius, but
Since posting
I have gone onto win 3 out of my last 4 games and in my last game --
vs Witton, they're 4th, I change from my two wingers and put in two narrow attacking midfielders who have been on the fringes, and what happens, I win 3-1 and the two players I bring in score 2 and set up 2 together
On that note, bed

Re: Football Manager 2011
Started the season on -4 points now on -1 after the first game. 1-0 victory over AGOVV to settle the nerves. BV Veendam are now in 13th place
A lot of teams started on minus points, never seen anything like it before!

Really cutting it fine in this FM
Board were really unhappy with the recent performances. Managed to pick up a win against 4th placed Frosinone

I love those wins against higher placed teams, oh and the wins against anybody
After a very poor start to this season, just hit the 30 game mark and we've hit our stride, one last push to the play offs!
My last 10 games --
Games: 10
Wins: 6
Draws: 2
Losses: 2
In my 30 games, i've only conceded 22 goals, but only scored 30 -- I need a new striker, badly!
How is your season shaping up Danny?

Re: Football Manager 2011
Same as last season. The game seems to screw me over every time i manage to string together some good performances. I conceded 2 penalties in 2 games. Both cost me wins
That's without mentioning some red cards (including the one mentioned above)
