Adam what do yo make of this 720p debate?

Do you think thats how the game was supposed to be? or do you think t is meant to be at the slower speed (1080i) but with better responce times?

I do like the 720p version but i did like the feel of the slower pace (1080i) it felt more 'true' to the lifelike speed of a game.

As a previous guy said maybe Konami had not played the game on a higher res than 720p and did not notice the delay, but i would rather they keep the slower pace and increase the responce times come the retail release.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THIS!!! (PS3 VERSION)

I'm sorry, but if any of you PS3 guys think Pro Evo 2010 operates above 720p, you are sadly mistaken. The only Hi-Res definition it functions at is 720p... it does not run at 1080i, nor 1080p!! I see countless PS3 users playing along like its something sweet. I don't know about PC, nor about XBox360 (though in the latter case, I would assume its the same story).

Reason for this? I have a pretty state of the art 40 inch Samsung, not LED, but a Series 6 Full HD 40" inch telly, not half bad. When I press 'Info' even when I have 1080p and 1080i checked but not 720p, the resolution reverts to 570p which looks crap obviously. When I have all resolutions checked, it chooses 720p, never higher. And it never, ever will run on 1080i when that alone is checked. Please, no more PS3 owners spreading myth... the demo is appalling in my opinion, I'm really frustrated about the situation. I give up on the series, and the money-grubbing, lazy twats who make the game over in Japan these days. How foolish do Konami's UK marketing dept. look right now? Jesus.

your all completely crazy and short sighted, this is simply the best game konami have ever made and heres the evidence on top player

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q88t_DdviBY

shame on all you doom merchants and naysayers you dont know what you have and adam im so dissapointed you cant see that this game doesnt have response issues and you are just perpetuating this hysteria.

Whether you see it or not people this is a simulation and considering half of you have never used anything but the d-pad its going to take you time to adjust.

I played ISS on the n64 for ten years and because of this i can play amazing football on pes2010 better then i ever could on any previous pes.The sheer unlimited amount of options and animations is staggering you just have to do more then just use the short pass and run at goal.

KONAMI I HAVE THE REMEDY PILL

Postby saadan » Tue Sep 22, 2009 3:31 pm

first of all graphics are sweet good, job with tht especially when u go in the details like the feet bend when players running or arm hair :? anyhow the cut scene animations dont do justice to the graphics i mean THEY STILL LOOK AND FEEL LIKE DUMB ROBOTS!!!! nothing lifelike... secondly repsonse times are surely horrific i understand the free ball but this is football not pinball! players we play with in pes are pros they shud have good ball control and PLZ shoot on one touch, volleys! hello! lastly i dont really see the mo cap changes i wud have loved to see, knock knock there is no animation for when you cancel a shot!!!!

I wish I enjoyed this game, I desperately wanted to, but man... its a complete mess.

1) The most juddery animation cycles in any PES/ISS game ever... incredible in the year 2009.

2) For me, too much of a deviation from the basics that made the latter PS2 games such gems. The game plays like an old FIFA game, so unresponsive. This is not PES... PES was far more of a simulation in 2006, the apex of football gameplay, but it was FUN additionally.

3) I simply don't feel in control of my players... the controls are not tight enough by any stretch.

4) The graphics on the PS3 are nothing like what I anticipated from the demo... a lot of jagged edges, a hell of a lot. Lacks polish, and not worth the hype in my book. I presume Xbox is better as usual.

The last point is not too important in my book, though I think it is worth calling attention to considering the level of praise it is receiving, some even call it the one redeeming feature.

Its not about animation which is purely cosmetic its about how the game plays although pes2010 literally has hundreds more animations this year.

Yet another person that cant move on from the ps2 or see the genius of pes2010,go buy fifa and enjoy a instantly accessible game that does not require any skill or learning curve.

Whats funny is everybody now wants to have pes2009 unrealistic dribbling and quick turns back because they cant adjust to a more realistic game.

The reason pes2010 has delays at times is so you can time at which point you hit the ball plus the controls are pressure sensitive, its not quite 100% there in the demo but the review code i have played the timing is perfect............as is the through ball and player runs.

Im sick of hearing all the guff about its so good having slow build up attacks. What happens if you want to be able to play like arsenal or man u? Who truly wants to copy teams like AC milan or juve that take forever, theres a reason why nobody wants to watch those games so why pay 40 quid to play dull boring games. And slightly off topic, I'm sick of hearing its a step in the right direction, Konami have been making football games for over a decade! I dont want a game that isnt anywhere near the standard of previous pros. So again why pay for konami starting again when you can wait till next year to see the finished article. Swerving wildly back on to topic, Iniesta is a fantastic player so why would a technically gifted player take 3 weeks to pass, shoot, run, and the like. I have always been a die hard pro fan but this year is the worst outing yet and is testing my faith. You can put up with the lack of licenses but poor gameplay is not the pro way. Sorry to rant lol

Pes2010 is a 720p game when you play it in 1080i or 1080p it is being upscaled, there is no difference in the speed of the game when you change the resolution or are there any response issues its a more refined timing system that allows you to half volley or time your hitting point.

All this nonsense about the game having no response issues in a different resolution is in peoples minds, theres no frame rate issues like a pc game whereby if you lower the settings the game is smoother.

Why not just try to enjoy the demo thats the reason konami realeased it early as a statement of intent, this is far from the finished product i know because i have played the lastest code.Even with its faults its still a highly playable demo just enjoy it.

The demo was build in my opinion for 720P, why? because OPTIMIZATION. If you change the settings of your TV to 1080 the only thing that you are doing is resampling the game, in other words, its a interpolation problem... Of course its seems more slowly in 1080 because the apparent better resolution (APPARENT) and any element its smaller in the screen.
When you change THE RESOLUTION from 1080 in the PS3 to 720 you NEED access to system settings in the IN GAME MENU and resize the screen size for this area shows all the game plans. When do this, the pace of the game is very similar in 1080 and 720, if you don do this RESIZE thing, you are seein only a part of the game plans (in your Screen) because of that you feel a lot speedy the pace of the game, its like watching the game through a magnifying glass.

In PES all the elements are build in HI RES (720P), because of that, you need to play it in 720 for the optimization. If you look FIFAs graphics in PS3 or XBOX360, i.e. you will see a lot of textures at lower resolutions, such as stadiums, or kits. This is what they call, graphical optimization.

Dopecoil I cant speak for everyone but when I change from 1080i to 720p the game does speed up, i should know as its me thats playing it.

I played on 1080i from release untill last night so i have a pretty good idea as to the difference i felt when i switched it.
Im not the only one who has experienced this by the general posts in this thread.

Just for the record boris i worked for konami as a tester on iss64,iss98,iss200 and pes 1-5 so know a few things about how to play a game of football and realism.

I hate to break it to you but this demo is pretty much the finished article and is near perfect, your just not clicking with it or realise how refined and special it is.

Its just one of those games thats only going to get better its not like fifa10 which is instantly accessible and one dimensional and lacks the depth and quality of pes2010,its everything the build up play, dribbling, crossing, running which is all so perfectly balanced...

Wanna just draw everyone's attention to Dopecoil's utter hypocrisy. Work for Konami UK old chap?

Dude if you can't see how incredibly slow players turn while dribbling you need to start comparing it to real life... Even pes 6 had the close control tight dribbel actions you could see every weekend in the primera division. You are a tester? Then tell Konami to solve the response time or they will lose alot of fans again...
I don't feel in complete control of my players, I'm not the only one complaining about it so there must be something going on right? So plz stop telling the game is perfect and we all need to adjust...
I love a steep learning curve but I dont like a broken gameplay... big difference
