Spelling...and grammar
Now these are not the things that I hate, of course. It's the blatant disregard of them, that drives me around the twist.
Living in a world full of texts, forums and the like has clearly made people extremely lazy from a linguistic point of view. Although, with regards to texts, I no longer get the need to use text speak. A text costs 9c (free, in some cases) are you that bloody cheap or in that much of a rush?
All that I see on the internet now is "teh", "We was" etc and so forth. One of the worst offences is the word "boi" which I've seen on a few sites. That's not quicker to write. In fact, there are no advantages to writing the word "boi", unless you are so incredibly lazy that you can't move your index finger slightly over an inch to the "y" key.
I'm no grammar Nazi. I won't moan at people for misspelling but it is something that irks me. I just don't get how, in most cases, people can look at a post with several misspelled words and click submit, tweet or whatever it is
Just so it's clear, I've no problems with acronyms like "imo" or "IIRC". They're acronyms, they serve their purpose
Just been on twitter, which is what compelled me to go on this rant, and the amount of people who are just so blasé about spelling is actually infuriating
I know I'm probably making a mountain out of a molehill but It annoys me profusely.
Finally, got out all that irritation
